Pros

- decent benefits available - good at approving time off - pay is ok - staff appreciation week (if the manager does it) - training opportunities are available - good co-workers and staff

Cons

Each site seems to be manager dependent. If your manager does not really care or never seems to be available to the staff, it leads to dissatisfaction of the staff. Pay rates are not standard across all sites, I have a friend who is a diet technician with SDX who started at my current payrate. I started with a lower payrate as a supervisor. This friend has a higher payrate than another friend of mine working for SDX who is also a diet technician at another site. There is little to no opportunities to grow for staff. There are no implemented programs to identify promising new staff which will help them to move up the ranks. False promises from management, some co-workers were promised supervisor jobs, but are stuck as diet technicians. Pretends that there is staff empowerment, but everything is strictly regulated and is "my way or the highway". Hard to deal with long-term employees as they are used to the previous system and many think that they know everything and are not open to training and criticism. Very stressful. High expectations of management. Senior management keep cutting back the budget each year without giving leeway nor finding out why the budget was such a way for a site each year.

Pros

My direct coworkers and other onsite employees are amazing and some of the nicest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. The day to day responsibilities are enjoyable to work on most days. Company phone provided for work communications during work hours (you don’t have to take them home with you) Free meals on shifts worked (with restrictions) “Set schedule”

Cons

Work life balance is not great. You hire on for one position or schedule and then end up being required to perform job duties that are outside of your description on top of your daily responsibilities. Wages are really low. Unfair distribution of allotted overtime hours. Benefits are not good either. Insurance is really expensive for not great coverage. Maternity leave is only 6 weeks and only 60% of your pay covered by short term disability (that you pay for out of pocket until 2 years of service)
