Pros

The compensation is reasonably fair when you sign your contract as a new hire, but you’ll soon discover that they’ll work you to death for that salary and you deserve more money.

Cons

Long and oftentimes inflexible hours. Management/school leaders who only care about optics (for example, fabricating test scores that doesn’t reflect students abilities, deceiving families about the school and its culture) than the employees who are doing the groundwork. Students are trained to act and think like robots. “Do as I say” is the climate for students and employees, which I found very problematic as a person of color in a school predominantly led by White people.

Pros

Uncommon Schools is a really positive, warm environment. People work hard and have tons of joy in their collaboration!

Cons

We are growing quickly, so the work load is busy! This isn't really a con, just something for new folks to be aware of :)
