Pros

Free fruit and beer, massages,k flexible working hours

Cons

Being told I had passed my probation in writing, only to have my manager tell me the CEO sent the email by mistake and they were extending my probation as 'I didn't listen' (the first and last time I have ever been told that) and then begged me to stay saying there was a Head of Brand position being made up for me. Mixed messages, terrible leadership and no direction whatsoever. Having to comfort members of the team who were crying their eyes out due to my superior's behaviour and the CEO brushing it off as he believed everything my manager said when it was clear she incompetent. Members of the team who took advantage of the flexible hours by turning up late and leaving early. Having to work all weekend on a regular basis to hit unreasonable deadlines. I was SO excited to start working at webcredible but I was very let down by senior management. It was a sugar coated toxic environment where the mental well-being of staff was not taken seriously at all.

Thanks for your candid feedback, I can’t comment on the exact circumstances of your situation as it was before my time but I would like to give you a response. We are working very hard at Webcredible to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, consistently and is given good line management in a supportive and positive environment. We have new process and procedures in place to make sure that people always have someone to turn to and a development path that is exciting and rewarding. We work hard to ensure that people have a good work life balance and I am confident that we are achieving this. I genuinely believe that we have created a pretty special place to work, and I am really sorry that your experience didn’t match up to that. Jo Higgs, Head of People.

Pros

The company culture is fantastic - I've never had so much fun working somewhere and made genuine friendships. The people are by far Webcredible's strongest asset. The work is quite varied and you're able to shape what you do to not just suit your schedule (e.g. working from home when you need to) but also your long-term learning plans. There's encouragement for trying new things and making things happen. I learned an enormous amount while working there, and had a great time doing it.

Cons

While I was there, it was a company that's stuck in an awkward growth stage, going from small-scale entrepreneurial start-up to a medium sized business. With that came a few issues: there often weren't clear processes or hierarchies to get things done, and it could feel a bit touch and go at times to get something done. Additionally, I think it's a company that needs a bit more strategic direction as it goes through its growth - things like target clients, target income, target projects, target ROIs and budgets, etc. weren't established, making activity a bit all over the place and disorganised.

Pros

This morning I received an email from our CEO to congratulate me on my 1st Webcredible birthday!! So it seems like the perfect time to reflect on the past year here.. and I honestly couldn't be happier in my new home from home (seriously, slippers and cosy blankets are often spotted around here!) I feel so fortunate to work with an array of incredibly talented people & to have the opportunity to learn from them every day. It’s also an amazing place to try new things, take risks and see your hard work come to fruition, with the support of the whole team behind you. Our Leadership Team are unbelievably supportive and trusting, and have created an amazing culture, which truly is at the heart of everything we do here. A year later and I really couldn’t be happier. This is unlike any place I have ever worked, and I strongly suspect that anywhere else would struggle to compete.

Cons

If you brought back Monday morning massages, it really would be the cherry on top of a pretty awesome cake :)
