Sales Representative - Sales Representative Zink Distributing Employee Review

Pros

Company does a lot of the big things right, 401K, PTO, etc. Great job security as long as you show up every day and don't try to cut corners or cheat the system. Family-owned company, and as a sales representative, I was able to walk into ownership's office if I had a question or issue. Industry isn't going anywhere.

Cons

No base pay rate increase for the past 4 years, while incentives have decreased as well. Ownership rarely visits market and relies heavily on middle management. Sales manager could use much improvement. Sales trends are shifting toward craft beer and domestic sales are suffering as a result. A large portion of company's sales come from domestic beer.

Pros

Some great drivers to work with.

Cons

Every thing else very old and out dated equipment trucks that are not even made anymore so there always breaking down and they'll blame you and act as if they don't no why you've been delayed very hostile work environment for certain employees that don't suck up or are truthful about conditions or question working conditions in anyway .They will lie to you, hiring for one thing and have you doing the opposite. As a new employee you better catch on fast to cause if any product is mistakenly misplaced or stolen or not loaded on your truck in the first place it doesn't matter they will dock your pay for full amount plus profits. They will make you sign a paper under fear of being fired that says you agreed to borrow X amount of dollars from the company and you agree for them to garnish X amount from your wages until paid off. Hyper super super hyper micro management to do simple things and get clearance to make decisions. I'd have to call the CEO no joke horribly company all around on so many levels oh and you have to pay $200 just to work there they garnish $50 a week for uniforms which I'm sure is illegal.
