Pros
I am currently doing contract work for eWomenNetwork that includes both public relations and video editing and producing. But I worked for them full-time from 2012-2018. I joined with experience as a video producer, writer, and radio reporter, but as the company’s media department evolved, I had to grow with it. I learned to edit video, coach people on camera, and when podcasting began to boom, I helped launch and manage their podcast network, training new hosts and hosting our own show. When the conference main stage producer left the company, I stepped up as producer of the live event — something I had never done before. Being surrounded by so many inspiring women entrepreneurs ultimately motivated me to become an entrepreneur myself. In 2018, I decided to go all in on my own business, using the skills and confidence I gained at eWomenNetwork.
Pros: Variety, energizing, open-door management, lots of learning for personal and professional growth, annual conference, smart and caring members.
Cons
Work can pile up if you don't manage it. It can be stressful at times, especially during conference time. Priorities can be fluid, which can make it challenging to complete a project.
