My role involved navigating misaligned expectations between landlord agreements and operational delivery, often leading to challenging on-site situations, which I felt unfairly blamed for.
I regularly worked over 60 hours per week, and felt the casual staff were not treated fairly, or in line with the companies values.
There was a lack of perceived value from central support functions for site teams. A high rate of senior management turnover in the clubspace sector created instability in strategic planning.
Furthermore, I observed a limited understanding of effective food and beverage strategy, including sourcing. This was compounded by frequent leadership changes, impacting overall stability, direction and rewarding good practice.
