Pros

Used to be a great comapny to work for.

Cons

Cannot trust current leadership. HCM killed the value of the employee. Expect the company will not exist in 5 years. Company survey was conducted at the end of 2013, and the comapny administering the survey stated that they have never seen such low scores. Will take years for the company to recover (if at all). Great job in destroying a company !!

Pros

NONE- Keep out of this LOSER COMPANY!

Cons

LEO Denault the CEO has eliminated pensions for new employees, increased retiree MEDICAL preiums by 100%, closed Plants and lined his own pockets with huge bonuses, salary and benefits. After all- he has KIDS that need to go to IVY LEAGUE COLLEGES and become CEOs! Raises are non existent for individual contributors. Bonus was cut in half by Bill MOHL and the board. Yet they are giving tens on millions to States and other utilities in profits to buy silence and better relations. LEO's Motto- I GOT MINE- SCREW YOU! Morale has never been lower and Leo Denault will destroy Entergy but enrich himself!

Moving from good to mediocre

Pros

Long term employees are still very committed to job and company. Traditionally strong culture that is changing. Work from home possible for non-field employees (plus alternate Fridays off). Trying to modernize work practices (opportunities for projects).

Cons

Modernization push relies on slogans (consultants!!) and hiring many top managers from outside the company (consistently high turnover in these ranks). Culture (strong work ethic, commitment, look-out-for each-other) is changing and becoming more accepting of mediocrity. Growing trust gap between management and rank-and-file, Internal promotions formally skewed away from merit and towards favorites.
