Take over by technipfmc no benefits

Pros
The company has very good core values and working culture. The core values are easy to make understand because they simply set out what is neccessary to develop a great enterprise. The management cares about integrity of employees, zero-defect process to reduce hidden operating cost in rework, staff development, collaboration between business function etc... An old staff does not necessarily in a privileged position for career advancement and promotion. Have heard of a few stories whereby newcomers overtake their bosses and be the reporting superiors of their ex-bosses after few years of work or even shorter... That motivates performance achievers... So long asyou are willing to learn and perform, you will be given a chance.
Cons
Some employees in some business function might be rude when communicate with co-workers, overseas counterpart abd even supplier. This adversely affect the wirking environment and also company's reputation (if this involved external supplier).

Decent place to work.
16 Jan 2009 - Product Design Engineer in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The organisation has quite a number of perk such as a canteen and transport from door to door for staff. This is very convinent if you live far from the facility. Within groups, supervisors are rather open and easy to work with. Office enviroment is quite decent and plesant. The pay is inline with what is expected in the industry and can be above the market rate at times. IT facilities are quite decent and company often has perks and events to boost the moral of the staff. Work load is moderate at times, but during peak periods, one has to stay back.
Cons
The work enviroment is quite rigid and there are so many global and local directives to follow at times. We just try to overcome, rather than follow it. Management is very divided and protective at turf, as such the organisation is not able to work together cohesively. Some of the administrative matter lack transparency and propert communication and explaination to the staff on the ground. This results often in confusion and rumours going around. Management is not able to communicate to rank and file staff, often resulting in staff having to rely on rumours or other colleagues to gather information.

Poor experience for a graduate
28 Oct 2016 - Quality Engineer in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Transportation provided for workers situated at the manufacturing plant Canteen has subsidized food Decent medical benefits for staff
Cons
Transportation timings are ridiculously early and may even be earlier than if you were to travel to work on your own Canteen food is not even borderline edible or appealing - colleague found worm in the food once Your career opportunities depend on whether your manager likes you There are cases where people steal other's hard work and package it as theirs, thus claiming credit for work done The hardest working people are poorly rewarded if you do not catch the eye of the right higher-ups Poor career progression, worked six years without any advancement Used to be a good company to work for back in 2010, but not any more Work distribution is poor, you could be massively overloaded without any one to help you while your colleagues go home on time Recent retrenchment exercises have cut the best people, leaving a somber mood behind.

Great welfare benefits, lousy specific local H...
28 Oct 2013 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great company with good local welfare benefits. Also good for those who want to develop themselves and prep for the next progression as they get to do a lot.
Cons
Only values those who have been working there for decades or a specific group. Ability to contribute does not matter. Many opportunities awaits them including getting transferred. Such staff still gets paid and leech on the company resources. The newbies are expected to "collaborate" and cover for such staff to close the work gaps and looks good as a team. Very tiring.

Pretty OK Company to Work For
29 Jan 2019 - Product Design EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good benefits. 1-1/2 month AWS is very rare. Bonus payouts were OK. Company transport was nice. Interesting work, if you like poring over procedures, specs and drawings all day. There are some rather strange people in the higher echelons of management who never connected with us and said some questionable things, and they never could understand why we weren't happy. However, some mid tier managers and seniors were very helpful and I believe they genuinely wanted to grow people, so they were a good counterbalance.
Cons
There was a crisis after the market downturn in 2015 (retrenchment, too) and I don't think it was well handled on all levels of management. Production could also have been more systematic.

Limited Career Growth & Disappearing Jobs In Some Business Units
11 Apr 2014 - Engineer I in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Company with good transport benefits for the employees. Flexible in the work timing as you are in total control. Most importantly if you can complete the task within the timeline.
Cons
Staff morale is low in some business units as the company is shrinking down & relocate them in other countries. In short, some of the jobs were disappearing in the local region. Limited career growth as many old guards had been working for decades in the company. Internal promotion opportunity were very often fill up employing outside people.

Not good if you are more than 3years experienced
11 Nov 2014 - Senior Project Engineer in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Office space, free fruits, trainings, coffee tea
Cons
Space is not enough to write, This is a school not a company. They hire people with 15years experience as so called SENIOR Engineer and then extend the probation, the training co-ordinators torture new employees to finish exercise, very pitty on picking issues, without giving any prior hint they say performance is NOT GOOD after 90days. You many not be surprised if you are working under a person who is 10years younger to you just because he or she is in FMC for 5years. No value for outside experience.

A lot of Talk, but no one really believes or does what they profess to do.
18 Aug 2017 - Specialist in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mature Systems, Immediate colleagues in the trenches tend to be good people Decent benefits, comprehensive if slow company transport.
Cons
Large amount (huge, ungodly bloated masses) of self serving Malaysian Chinese middle Managers who are extremely proficient in only two skills. Skill 1 - Pandering to every whim of the caucasian senior management Skill 2 - Getting out of the line of fire when there is actual work to be done and foisting it off on others. Due to industry downturn, bonus and pay packages are no longer attractive enough to offset the political working environment. Very blatant and obvious glass ceiling for locals working there. Retrenchment/cost cutting not based on competencies but on politics.

Very Bad Experience
18 Nov 2015 - Anonymous Employee in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Interesting notes and lecture to study.
Cons
Very old-fashion minded structure with unreasonable bosses. They love to think very highly of themselves, maybe due to their position and duration in the company. Demanding, when job can be done within minutes, ended up becoming days. Micro-manage, even how you write your email and even subject header, no creativity, just kills brain cells and work like robot. Obviously leaders totally unclear whats on the ground. Love to give tight schedule when actual deadline is way beyond 2 to 3 weeks. Just for the leaders to enjoy 'work-life balance' but kills the employees. Work-life balance, no way. Maybe just the leaders and lower tier managers.
