    Pros

High performing environment but with great care for people.

    Cons

Career growth is a path you need to chart on your own and most times it's not simple because the organization is quite flat.

    Pros

You can be sure you're well taken care of from food, health and well being. The culture is really open which makes you feel happier coming in to work.

    Cons

The pay itself is often times might not be as competitive as you would think. But it's still worth it given the great culture and the fun people you're surrounded with.

    Best company to work for

    Pros

This is one of the best company I worked for in my 25year career. Extremely employee focussed, great benefits and caring. Work culture is very competitive, surrounded by very smart people and always one need to up the game to keep up. There are tons of opportunities to learn, grow and prosper. It is always motivating to work in a place where the product helps billions of people around the world.

    Cons

Salary may not be astronomically high compared to other bigwigs, yearly salary raise is lower too.

Great place to work and grow your career

    Pros

I previously worked at Amazon. I would say FB moves faster, is less top down, less formal with reviews (not obsessing over writing perfect docs, but rather focusing on decisions), is more supportive of employees, and has much more resources to staff projects with lots of senior people across all functions.

    Cons

My feeling is people work more at FB than at Amazon. You definitely are working with the A-team and perhaps everyone feels a bit of pressure to really step up their game.

    Pros

    Good salaries and benefit package

    Cons

    - Difficult to get promotions and/or simply align IC levels after years of work experience. - They promote a culture where employees should spent 70% of their time doing something they really enjoy, but then they make very difficult to change role internally. - They offer a lot of general benefits, but totally ignore problems on a case-by-case basis

I love the culture of Facebook including the openness and transparency and how the leadership listens to the employees concern. There is a huge opportunity to make great impact.

You need the right team and manager

    Pros

Given that I started during Covid, I was unable to experience all the fringe benefits working at FB on site has to offer. However, having worked as a contractor previously I can say working from HQ is wonderful. Great scenery, events, all variety of food and snacks everywhere. It's a dream.

    Cons

From my experience, and hearing from many others in the same position, being a contractor at a large tech company can be a real challenge. You can often be undermined, undervalued, and ultimately the scape goat to be blamed when things go awry. I started when Covid hit, which didn't help matters. Everyone was very stressed, and in a terrible mood, and it constantly showed. The transition did not occur smoothly. And Middle management leaves a lot to be desired in providing a safe and comfortable workplace.
