Pros
Any pro list must start with compensation and benefits. Annual salary adjustments and year end bonuses have always exceeded my expectations. The product is the best on the market. And the company is constantly looking to move into new markets with new products.
Cons
Your experience on site is largely dictated by two people: your project manager and your solution architect. If both these people are competent and kind, your experience should be positive. If one or both of them aren't qualified for their role, you're likely going to struggle. Fast has a bad habit of promoting based on tenure rather than merit. The people making these decisions are at HQ in Denver and have only a vague idea of what's happening on project sites. HQ does elicit feedback from employees (e.g., HR will make a site visit to meet with individuals) but it seems as if this feedback never results in meaningful change. At times I've felt the company is trying to squeeze as much work out of me as possible before I decide to look for something else. Their only strategy for retention appears to be monetary. For the last two years, Fast has been losing employees faster than they can hire them. When I started with Fast 5 years ago I remember thinking "I wish this company was public so I could invest." I really believed in what they were doing and overwhelmingly thought the company was moving in the right direction. I no longer feel that way.

Pros
Lots of opportunity to work
Cons
Work culture varies depending on site
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Good life balance, benefits, pay.
Cons
You will be moved every 2-4 years, possibly even more. Skills don't transfer to other jobs easily. Slightly cringy company culture.
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
The work we do at FAST feels very important. The goal is always to provide the best product and it feels great knowing that the processes we're building will positively impact so many people.
Cons
You are often expected to work long hours around rollouts
- Former Employee★★★★★
Great job out of college, but not much room for growth after 5+ years
RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good starting salary Good benefits The people are great You get lots of responsibilities and opportunity right off the bat Paid overtime
Cons
Experienced employees are expected to do way too much which results in lots of overtime and people burn out. Rollouts are extremely taxing on employees, especially experienced ones. Staffing for new projects and open positions is entirely based on who you know and who you talk to, not based on your skills. Your Project Manager is the gatekeeper for all opportunities with Fast so you better get along with them and hope they are good at their job. After 5+ years with the company you don’t have many new opportunities for career growth other than learning new functional areas.

Pros
Take care of workers. Decent pay. Great work life balance.
Cons
Would like to work from home more.
- Former Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
- Good Pay - Pays for moving expenses - Good Benefits - Transferable Skills in Tech Team Role
Cons
- Not a great atmosphere for neuro-divergent individuals - Co-workers can be your only support system - Not stable living conditions, moving every couple of years - Could be relocated at a moments notice - Could be relocated to a place you do not wish to be - Work/Life Balance in Tech Team Role can be non-existent
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
-Very supported and amazing team members. Almost everyone is incredibly hardworking and dedicated. -Good perks (parties, swag, team building, lots of free meals, paid sabbatical) -AMAZING health insurance for employee and dependents -Decent pay (not equal for all roles though) -Focused on results and not just doing things the way they've always been done or how other companies do things -A lot of autonomy to do your own work, they place a lot of trust on employees, even new hires. -Making a difference and impact on government -Secure work, never had any layoffs that I know of -Paid bonus time in addition to salary, so you get paid for all the hours you work.
Cons
-Not able to adapt to remote work (not sure how this is fixed though with their business model) -Your experience is greatly dependent on who your project manager is. -Not all roles are equal: people in certain roles are valued much more than others. -Way below average parental leave for the tech industry -If you aren't on a project you can feel dispensable. The impression is that they don't want to hire people for the long term, instead purposely don't have promotion or growth opportunities or pay increases for non-project roles because they expect people to move on and this is a way to encourage turnover in those roles. -Horrible bonus structure. Your bonuses will go down before they go up. -Performance ratings and how you can get money added to bonus is not clear, there is no transparency to why you were rewarded one way or another. -A lot is expected of you, so you have to put a lot of long hours in, can be pretty draining to your personal life. There are some flaws that are mostly role specific or project dependent but all things considered they treat employees well and it is a great company to work for. You get out of it what you put in!
