Reviews about "good pay"
Return to all Reviews- 5.018 Aug 2015Part Time Package HandlerCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearSaint Joseph, MO
Pros
Work is very do-able, not much of a learning curve. Also a good way to stay physically active. Management also does a great job communicating to all the package handlers. Safety is talked about everyday and is FedEx's #1 priority. The pay is great for both In and Out bound shifts and thats just for the entry level position. Being a package handler also gives you lots of opportunities to move up into the business
Cons
Being a package handler is not for the faint of heart. You will always start out on the most physically demanding parts of the job but if you are diligent and you stick with it, you will eventually get used to it. Eventually you will have the opportunity to move onto less physically parts of the job. Hours are also slim even if you are fortunate enough to work both Inbound and Outbound. If your lucky you may get 3 hours in one shift. Also if you plan on working Inbound, you have to be there VERY early. Somewhere around 3-4 am.
