I worked at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good progression opportunities in Healthcare and into GE other companies. People are committed to the healthcare mission, it makes a difference for customers and patients. I experienced high trust and transparency in decision making.

    Cons

Processes rely on people, can be hard to make changes as fast as you'd like and the hours can be long because it's so people dependent...but it has been improving. Unclear strategy(ies) for finance transformation across the world, can be confusing and unproductive. The more you progress, the less coaching and mentorship is available. Leadership lose sight that even senior people need support.

    Advice to Management

Coaching and development is needed at all levels. More coaching culture needed.

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Meaningful purpose with colleagues who work together towards the same goal Everyone is nice and tries their best to collaborate Flexible hours as long as you get work done Good brand in the industry Lean structure which means you learn a lot! You will pick up many skills.

    Cons

Singapore office is depressing to work from. Everything is old, IT equipment doesn't work most of the time, toilets smell. Dont see HR involved in improving morale and retaining talent. Current budget cuts everywhere but not everyone follows the expectations. It depends a lot on your team and your manager. Some employees have access to money while others don't but global targets or expectations are just as... aggressive everywhere. Super lean structure means no clear progression for some roles. If you are not in a critical function, you may get overlooked for promotions or opportunities due to budget or your manager. You need to proactively ask for opportunities for exposure which can lead to burnout and more work but not necessarily better pay / higher title.

    Advice to Management

Have a more defined progression for employees to aspire to so that they are not impacted when their managers change, which is very common in GE. Constant change to the org structure is not something to be proud of. It could be necessary but I've heard so many people say GE is always changing like it's an achievement. Funny enough... the people who i observed have survived all these changes are mostly the ones... skilled at navigating politics and positioning themselves at the right time.

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time

    Pros

    Benefits are good. Nothing else.

    Cons

Management level need to be changed.

    Advice to Management

People in GE has been staying for more than 5yrs. They are not open to any changes that are initiated by new employees. Company wont be able to grow if management level is not updated to any changes to improve the process.
