    No Opinion of CEO

I worked at Gannett full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Flexibility of work hours and work remotely as needed. Direct manager very supportive and allowed to try different tactics.

    Cons

Almost constant cutting of staff and resources. To many divisions with differing goals that do not always align with each other. Constantly wondering when you will be the next one laid off.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Gannett full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great coworkers and clients. Most people I work with really want to do a great job and help the organization succeed.

    Cons

You never know from day to day if you will have a job. Lots of layoffs on a regular basis. Layoffs are not based on performance or tenure. If your number is up, it's your time to go. You can work so hard on a project only to find out the direction has changed.

    Recommends

I have been working at Gannett full-time

    Pros

Culture is awesome - laid back environment (you'll never work a weekend unless it is for an outside reason such as a client meeting). Lots of internal resources as an employee. Lots of training and product mix is very diverse.

    Cons

Lots of change - ever changing and adapting revenue from print to online. Having different managers within 6 months is not uncommon. Commission structure pays well, but can be difficult to achieve even for the veteran salesperson.

I worked at Gannett full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Extremely talented and intelligent co-workers. Rewarding work.

    Cons

Typical unequal pay and the industry is really struggling. You never know how much longer you will have a job.

Really liked Paul Bascobert when he was the co-CEO, but they quickly got rid of him.
