Pros
1) Great teammates were the only reason I survived. 2) Pretty good medical insurance in Serbia (though for me, they made it not 1-year but 5-month) 3) work-life balance
Cons
1) The salary structure at the company was relatively lower than industry standards, and unfortunately, there wasn't an adjustment even after I took on additional responsibilities. This impacted my motivation and growth within the company. Moreover, after getting a work permit, my salary was paid in Serbian dinars, and even Google conversion rates in euros were less than was stated in my contract. 2) The CEO is doing nothing, the product is not be selling enough resulting in making the company partly outsource (they sold a part of the team to another company) 3) The CEO's wife works here - as a COO - and I do not have enough words to describe her. I encountered challenges in effective communication with her. It would be beneficial if discussions with her could be more balanced and open to differing viewpoints, fostering a collaborative environment; all discussions with her are one-sided, and she will not listen to you and your arguments. I had a 2-hour meeting with her that ended at the starting point... She doesn't see real problems in the company even though employees name them, BUT she conducts a set of MANDATORY lectures about diversity & inclusivity (for the company with 30 Russian people and 10 Serbian/English). Inclusivity that allows you only to live within the GMT+4 time zone because otherwise, your organism will produce melatonin during your working hours (it was a REAL argument). 4) During my transition to a new role outside the company, I noticed that there wasn't a counteroffer to retain me, resulting in a 4-month search for a replacement. They don't understand how to manage personnel 5) They cannot even write proper job descriptions (in my JD, there are English classes, while there were no classes). Typos, false statements -- permanent characteristics of JDs. Furthermore, it is stated 'comfortable office in the very heart of the historical center of Belgrade'. This 'comfortable office' has 8 seats and had no air purifier in winter when it is 150+ PM2.5 in the Belgrade air. Again about JDs: domain training for newcomers. I have never heard about this from anyone. 'opportunity to work 100% remotely' - only within GMT+4 :):):):):) 'flexible work schedule' - but 11-18 you MUST work.
