Pros

A good job if you like working outdoors. You usually work alone throughout the day. Gas mileage is reimbursed. Management was flexible with requesting time off.

Cons

You are not provided a company vehicle. Hours are inconsistent. You are assigned a job site and work off the construction workers schedule; if they are not working, you are not working and do not get paid. Training is very poorly executed. You may have to file for unemployment in the winter because no one works. When it rains, you rarely work. You have to carry around a heavy nuclear gauge and are exposed to radiation. Need to learn another language.

Pros

Decent pay, plenty of hours to work. A good job if you like working outdoors.

Cons

Management lied during the interview process. Training was a joke, and everything is based on guesswork. There is no work-life balance. You're expected to be in at 7AM every morning, and work overtime every single day. Management promises to hire career employees, but fails to follow through with anything. Benefits are very poor, and technicians are underpaid for the amount of work and effort they're expected to do.

Pros

Get some compensation weekly - salary one week, expenses the next. Co workers are mostly nice. I cannot think of anything else.

Cons

We have to sign our major equipment in and out every day (which most other companies do not do). Not enough equipment for everyone and in the morning it becomes a rush to be able to get what you need. Upper level never seems to care when we cannot accurately cover our sites and often promises people they will get a technician only to cancel on them when no equipment is available to cover the site. I have had clients complain about this, and that when they call in to ask why all they are given is excuses. Compensation and benefits are not what I was originally promised. Little regard for work-life balance and certain uppers have even said multiple times to succeed in company you must not have one. Time is not guaranteed so if there is no work we get no pay. Advancement opportunities are not as promised originally. Raises are based on certifications and experience but the pay is very poor, one has to pay for their certs (it is reimbursed after but they are very expensive proportional to what we get in return), and there is little time to do so.
