Incompetent,Inefficient and IRRELEVANT
10 Feb 2019 - Senior Consultant in Zellwood, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Network/researching basics seem to connect, but team members need to be VERY disciplined in understanding what the client wants... on my one example...they Don't!
Cons
Team members appear to lack sophistication and/or attention to detail. I was engaged to provide advice to a client in a specialised field. I researched the brief extensively and forwarded to the team to facilitate client engagement and contracted call. This was frustrated by compliance, but finally reached the client. When I discussed the "mandate" subject matter the Guidepoint team had TOTALLY misunderstood the brief! So, I wasted three days, and didn't get paid because the contracted call (USD 300/hour) didn't happen. As it transpired I could have readily addressed what the client wanted to know! I terminated future referrals from Guidepoint immediately.

Valid consulting opportunity once you understand the limitations
29 Jun 2014 - Consultant in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I worked for Guidepoint Global as a consultant for one of their investment bank clients. The hourly fees are selected by the consultant, so a good fee of $150+/hour for professional services is easily achievable. The application and invoicing process is done on-line and is very straight forward and easy. Excellent communication between Guidepoint and consultant to apply and schedule appointments. Terms and conditions emphasize ethical treatment of confidential information and are very clear.
Cons
Consultants need to realize that they are only paid for time spent on the phone with customers. This should be considered when setting your hourly fees. The Guidepoint terms even said that they would not pay for "waiting time" if your client is late for their scheduled call; this is the only negative term but is not right. Also, I had some initial problems submitting my application on line but they said it was a one-time anomaly that caused the problem, so I give them the benefit of the doubt on that issue.

How I got the worst experience
25 Nov 2021 - Anonymous Employee in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It will be a rewarding experience. And I can help companies by consulting in my area. But I was wrong! This village company Guidepoint will humiliate you! The first humiliation during the consultation. Nobody prepares you for what will be there! None of the Guidepoint staff wants to create a proper meeting and prepare the participants (expectations and questions). Second humiliation after consultation. You will remind them to pay over and over again. And they will ask the same questions every time and not make a payment.
Cons
I totally don’t recommend contacting Guidepoint!

Nice Plays, Colleagues, Amazing Working Environment
6 Jun 2021 - Associate in Moscow, MoskvaRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Amazing working environment. VP of Athens is an amazing individual, he has made an excellent job making the working environment to be awesome. - Nice colleague. While I was in Guidepoint I must say that all my colleagues were amazing professionals: diligent, solitary, responsible. Also, most of them are below 30, this is not a good or bad feature, is just a fact.
Cons
- I would say that perhaps the only bad thing is that this is a job that can get very repetitive and a bit boring. But, some people may find it entertaining.

Guidepoint has been making great strides and progress within the information technology field in recent years.
4 Aug 2021 - Lead Engineer/Technologist in Plant City, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Employee who is passionate about technology, would gain valuable experience after working with latest tech stacks and gain real life experience after working in a modern day IT department. Guidepoint IT department has great upper and middle tier management as well as lots of talented developers specializing in a great spectrum of technology stacks. Opportunity to learn latest cutting edge technologies. Good place for advancement.
Cons
Can slightly improve in recruitment process by covering a wider ranger of possible candidates. From US and perhaps from other countries?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Terrible job.
3 Jun 2021 - Client Service Associate in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Smart, young, competent employees - Interesting exposure to many industries -Great 401K match (10%) - Growing industry (doing well because of Covid)
Cons
-Overworked (told I am not allowed to take a lunch, told I am not allowed to log off on time at the end of the day, work 8:30-7:30 most days). Associates are constantly stretched thin and burnt out. Hard to work so much for only 55K. - Client Service Associate= LinkedIn recruiter. You spend all day surfing LinkedIn and messaging people. You send thousands of messages a week. - Everyone thinks Guidepoint is a scam. I spent a lot of time conviving people Guidepoint is legitimate. Also, Guidepoint is very secretive, we are told to keep project intentions secret. - No overtime compensation and there is a very minimal reward for completing projects/ recruiting leads. The bonus is a bracket system, it is very minimal and no incentive to go beyond. -Company seems to prey on recent graduates from XYZ schools that were involved in sports, greek life, etc., and convince them this company is great. A lot of times this company is sold as a "consulting" career, in reality, you are just a LinkedIn bot. -High turnover rate- there is a reason everyone leaves after 0-2 years... -No prospect of growth, being a Research Manager or Project Manager is barely an upgrade. There is little monetary gain for these positions and you essentially do the same job. -They rank all the associates every week in an email that gets sent to everyone, this seems to be a very questionable practice. -Very high stress, everyone is on edge and everything needs to be done instantaneously.

We cannot work 24h/day
8 Dec 2020 - Project Manager in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Have met some incredible colleagues at Guidepoint.
Cons
There's no work life balance. You are expected to reply to your emails within 15 min - that's for your days off or post 6pm. During work hours you must reply to e-mails immediately and drop whatever you're doing to get projects started. The job is not suitable for anyone who has a life outside of work as you are expected to work even on holidays. The company has a lot of potential but the high employee turnaround is happening for a reason - everyone working there is unhappy. Management is incredibly young, untrained, unqualified and inexperienced. Everyone is hired to say yes to the CEO who does not like his views to be challenged.

Great learning experience!
12 Jan 2021 - Client Servicing in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I spent several years at Guidepoint and was very sad to leave! You have the opportunity to work with great people - locally and internationally - in a very driven environment. The work itself can be challenging (and slightly repetitive when you start out in the Associate role) but if you push yourself you can learn a lot, work your way up the ladder, and build lasting relationships with clients.
Cons
Work/life balance can be difficult across the industry
