      Pros

The health insurance is okay. If your supervisor likes you, you will not do any work or your work will consist of off the phone tasks while everyone else is answering back to back calls.

      Cons

To make a long story short, the workload is unbalanced. Favoritism rules this department. If you are a favorite you will not do work while everyone else is being overworked. They do not treat pregnant women fairly. I had a friend that was told she had to cancel her Dr appt when she was in her third trimester because they were busy. I had another friend that was fired because she missed work due to a close relative passing. They fire their best employees because the supervisors did not like them or the best workers left because they were being over worked while those that had favoritism on their side barely worked and were promoted. There is no work/life balance. The work culture is toxic and messy. They expect you to treat higher ups (techs, trainers, supervisors, etc.) with respect while they can talk to you any way. If you do not mind being over worked and made to do mandatory every day, apply. If you want to stay in the same position for years with no to little pay increase, apply. If you want to be criticized (quality review) with no accurate or positive corrective action, apply.

      Pros

Remote work Can’t think of anything else.

      Cons

Cheap company to work for. Benefits are not actually benefits. Tuition reimbursement is 5k and less than other places and there are stipulations to what is considered tuition. Books and material not included. Paying for health insurance through HUMANA costs too much. The irony. So many medications are not covered and or need Prior authorizations. Favoritism. Reward techs who cross corners so long as performance looks well.

      Cons

Local Administration was my nightmare. I could have done really well with this company, but I became the ‘pushover’ by my immediate supervisor by not forming immediate and secure boundaries from day 1. Workload became expansive, exhaustive, and beyond my paid hours for work. Didn’t mind until I noticed it wasn’t balanced between the group & wasn’t changing anytime soon …yet all the while; the micromanagement style of ‘leadership’ supervision was my only form of guidance as it was from my direct and only local supervisor who eventually decided that I was her weak link when finally brave enough to rebuttal her on the fairness of assignments & how it impacted my life in and out of work. Sad too … bc it really could have been a great workplace for years to come I think. Health Insurance was still excessively priced for a Employee + Child(ren) HD plan at $440 month with a $3680 deductible before 80/20 coverage would kick in.

      Job security needs improvement

      Pros

excellent and supportive supervision, encouraged and inspired me to greater productivity and achievements. Provided very good benefits and work-life balance, except for the employees health insurance benefits which were not very cost/value effective

      Cons

Top brass was constantly changing the co.'s business model which triggered constant lay offs and little to no job security for hundreds of employees, irregardless of their dedication, tenure and loyalty to company. They also seem to be top heavy - way too much mgmt layers, way too many chiefs here, which not only siphons off salary resources but leaves little to no room for entry- to lower mid level job opportunities.

Flexible and accommodating but lack of support

18 Jun 2021 - Senior Health Information Analyst in Denver, CO

      Pros

Work from home flexibility pre-covid will continue. Corporate works hard to take care of employees in the states/market associates. A lot of room for growth or pivoting within Humana.

      Cons

All teams appear siloed which creates frustrations across departments. Onboarding isn’t enough and most new employees feel thrown into the deep end regardless of how new they are to Humana. If you aren’t comfortable with teaching yourself and uncertainty it will be difficult. Bonuses are typical health insurance formula and way too low.

      Pros

Humana has a great benefit program including time off, remote work opportunities, excellent 401k match, and generous parental leave.

      Cons

The health insurance plan for employees is more like "catastrophic health coverage".

      Toxic Environment

12 Apr 2021 - Senior Informaticist in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Work-life balance was great, but was dependent on your supervisor. The benefits besides health insurance were very generous. Business partners were some of the best work colleagues.

      Cons

Not very diverse that allowed the various levels of the hierarchy to create a toxic environment. Autonomy was stripped away even though I had many years of experience and was a SME. The only way to grow career was to leave current role and apply for other positions instead of being promoted.

Culture - fantastic culture, really show they care about there employees Benefits - top tier benefits

      Cons

Customers seem to only remember the bad experiences they have with health insurance, like an out of pocket cost or hospital fees not covered by insurance.
