Pros

There's still a remnant of the old Impact Unlimited spirit left, but it's quickly being diminished. They have a wider range of clients after the merger.

Cons

The company is now being run by a group of young inexperienced inter-related Canadians who only care about doing everything on the cheap. Quality of output at every level is also rapidly diminishing.

Pros

I learned much about trade shows and project management. Benefits are better than average, and some very talented people work there.

Cons

I was the mercy of an Account Director who was a narcissistic egomaniac with a victim mentality, and micromanagement tendencies. They failed to evolve with company, and either would not or could not understand any process changes. To be honest, they are confused by their cell phone regularly. If I did make a change, as directed by other management, it was suspected that I was going "rouge" and could not follow directions, because she didn't hear it or understand it. If I tired to explain myself or my reasons, I was being "disrespectful". Yet it was somehow appropriate for to this individual to get into screaming matches with other departments to the moment they couldn't adjust to their whims instantly. Any mistakes I made were the end of the world, (I am talking about typos) and meanwhile her sentences barely made sense. Additionally I was told that my vocabulary was confusing because she could not understand, or "didn't like that word." At times I was copying her text exactly, and she would still find issues with it. Meanwhile, she was going to my boss to show how incompetent I was supposedly. Meanwhile the other Account Director remained silent because the team was happily moving forward. This individuals feed back was never sought. Even if 66% of my billing was work for this person. Somehow my boss was out of touch with what amount of work I was doing for whom. They expect th to run teams while still managing a full customer exhibit schedule. It was somehow determined that my main role was supporting the first AD was my primary job, even if it was only 33% of my billable hours, and their happiness. I wish I could say that this was one individual, however many account directors I was exposed to had similar traits, but this individual took the cake. People hear and see things but choose not to get involved. Its basically a "deal with it mentality" is toxic, as the fear of retaliation is real. Browbeating is common in some departments. I rarely saw promotions from with and work life balance was subject to what department/role a person is in and how well you are liked by your manager.
