A Culture in Favortism

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

-some training opportunities -flexible scheduling (depending on department) -there's a Keurig

Cons

-regularly promotes their "growth" but leaves out that only 1 in 5 people actually stay for more than a year - CEO constantly displays nepotism. - "Do as I say, not as I do" kind of culture from the C-levels. - Some employees seem to do no wrong, because all they do is pentests and watch YouTube. If they were asked to do anything else, they'll claim they're too busy, but in reality, it's because they don't know how. -If you're not friends with the the C-levels, you'll be last pick for opportunities, but first to go when they start cleaning house -They want employees that are "passionate" about infosec, so they can give them low salaries. If a person wants to be fairly compensated, they're "only in it for the money"

Bad Boss with Trust Issues

Pros

Training available although limited. InfoSec job in Lincoln. Cool technologies.

Cons

CEO micromanages and shows no trust for employees. There is constant turmoil between departments. Whenever the CEO is gone everyone comes together and bad mouths him. Leaves you wondering if the same happens to you. Almost all of the engineering team say they're over worked constantly. In reality they aren't that busy. The services offered are 'hacked' together and designed to gain as much money as possible for the company while providing minimal security and engineering hands on time. Be careful of the non-compete if you do leave. The CEO regularly sends lawyers after previous employees. Engineering salaries are a joke.

Pros

Small company, you'll know everybody's name. Some of the people are great and kind.

Cons

If another security company in Lincoln existed, it would put them out of business. Average employee probably works here for 6 months and will leave when they are finally sick of putting up with the CEO. Company culture is surrounded by profanity and beer. A very unprofessional place to work. The office is far from fancy and uncomfortable to work in. Employees like to email disgusting photos of the toilet after they are finished to brag about their mess. The pay is subpar and they know it, being the only cybersecurity company in Lincoln they can take advantage of the staff who have a passion for it. A previous review stated some employees will say they are "so busy" but they are in fact doing nothing all day. A very true statement that i agree with. Some of the staff are good friends in their personal lives. This means management has obvious "favorites" and will cut the hard workers to save their friend. Being in sales is difficult because the engineers dont know the products well or just flat are lazy and dont meet expectations. Also their ability to write professionally in an email or speak on the phone is absolutely terrible at times. Engineers also have a high turnover so by the time they figure the stuff out, they leave immediately for a better paying job.
