Pros
- good work life balance - mon-fri work - +1 annual leave for every year - good medical benefits - good stepping stone for diploma/ITE grads only - increment every year about 4% iirc
Cons
- set up business continuity plan but does not follow it when there is covid now. say strictly no crossing of shifts but yet managers and some employees kept doing that as if they won’t get covid. - pays diploma and degree holder, both with no experience the same salary. even a pending diploma certificate person with merely some experience is getting same pay as fresh grad. ridiculous! - need to do jobs outside your JD, such as safety and cleaning stuffs when there is no intern - stupid KPI set at 97-98% that affects your yearly appraisal and bonus (!!!) - bonus calculated based on company factor, salary, percentage you are qualified for... a whole load of equation - management mainly comes from first base co. and most of them lack in how to manage a company because of the lack of experience from exposures outside, so meaning these people are promoted based on tenure and not experience - bad manpower arrangement such as asking management to work from home when they can work in the lab when we deserve the help during covid times - management aware of low performers and people who slack at work but turns blind eye - boss and management that only remembers the 1 bad thing you did/ thing you forgot to do and not the other things you have done well - boss that always thinks they are right, refuses to admit to mistakes or hear others out and bring you down - boss clearly made mistake but still act like as if it wasn’t her fault and deny her mistakes when corrected, try to phrase words which don’t reflect it’s her mistake - very very bad communication and no transparency in terms of manpower arrangement and people leaving the company that affects our job - gives empty promises such as wanting to improve on communication and team work but never do - hire associates that cannot do job e.g can’t lift heavy weights >5kg so pretty unfair to others who can lift heavier weights - about 6 person has left the company till date as i know, that’s quite a big turnover rate for a small pte company - lack of promotion/ progression for employees who have worked here for 3-4 years while fast progression for people who boot lick :)
