its a good starting point in Japan
Cons

Great people but old fashioned structure
25 Jan 2023 - Head TeacherRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The upper management of Nagoya Branch are great. Respectful, professional, and flexible to work with. You can get a lot of experience in training, people management, presentations and ongoing sales.
Cons
Pay will never increase and promotion options are almost impossible. The company only values people who are willing to be relocated across Japan to be eligible for promotion to higher levels. You may also contribute a lot and never receive any recognition or compensation, besides perhaps a certificate. There are new people in management with poor communication skills that are quite difficult to work with. It can be frustrating for those working directly below them.

Ok teaching job
14 Jan 2023 - Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Hitachi-NakaRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Can be a lot of fun teaching the kids and working together with your JTE
Cons
Where you get placed is at random and multiple schools seems to be a must when you can drive. Being forced to teach how the school wants sometimes is draining depending on the teachers
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Lots of free time to pursue other skills.
Cons
Pay could be better, but likely will not increase.
- Current Employee★★★★★

Mixed bag, you get what you make of it
23 Jan 2023 - Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A chance you'll be at a loving school with a great community and ability to experience Japanese culture.
Cons
A chance you'll be at a school where you're treated as a human tape recorder and may not get along well with students. Expect low pay and staff that treat you like you're 5 years old. Also, you could get sent to the middle of nowhere.

Working for Interac
19 Jan 2023 - Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in MoriokaRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
・Pays for transportation expenses ・Staff and students at the local schools are nice
Cons
・Pay is extremely low ・No sick days. Only 10 days of paid time off and are required to take one of the days if you are sick. If you run out of days off, you just won't get paid. Interac already decides when you are to take 5 of those 10 days off. You have no control over those days. ・It's difficult to communicate with the teachers if you can't speak Japanese. ・The last weeks of the contract are not paid, so if you choose to renew your contract for the next school year, you can expect to barely have enough to survive bills and expenses in April ・Interac does not pay you back for any expenses on school materials. If you want to buy teaching materials to help increase the quality of your lessons, it must be out of pocket or just whatever is provide for you at your school(s)

not recommended for people who wish to excel in teaching field
18 Jan 2023 - Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Its one of the gateway to teach english in Japan but you shouldnt stay here over a year.
Cons
- prorated salary - no completion bonus - no housing sponsorship; they would ask you to shouder all the accommodation or housing (some dispatch companies shoulder the key money and deposit and you just have to pay the monthly rent)
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
It's a good starter pack for non-experienced teacher
3 Jan 2023 - Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Nagoya, AichiRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There is a great support system from the staff. They also have paid English camp during summer and winter which you can join if you want to expand your horizons or improve in teaching. Lots of free time and long holidays
Cons
Working with JTEs may be tough if you're not compatible with them. Very low pay for gas expenses if you drive a car to your schools.
