Pros

- Once a week, there's free food! - You're helping people do something wonderful with their minds; there's some amazing success stories that they get sent in. The Muse can work, and is backed by research! - It's casual- startups have that down packed! - The development team is very fun and open. If you're going to work for Interaxon, work in that department. - Great downtown location- it's a beautiful building. - If you want balance, it's there for the taking. This is not a company that grinds their employees.

Cons

- This company is in it to make a profit. That is about 99% of the reason it exists. Money. A solid reason to be sure as it's a business, but this is a company that could change the world with the right motivations. - The development team is treated incredibly well, but on the flip side the rest of the company is pretty toxic; people are on average, not happy, and teams have no idea how to communicate with one another - stress, rudeness, and lack of listening skills manifest themselves daily in meetings. This is such a shame as it doesn't need to be like this. - They hire people who do not fit what the company sells- very few health oriented types. I think this is because they haven't invested in an HR personnel. There's junk food and alcohol galore and very few employees exercise or really care about improving their mental, spiritual and physical health. If you're looking to work for a health conscious company, beware, this is not it. - Low pay- barely above minimum wage for a number of people. This is pretty astounding for a company built on the principle of empathy. I would not suggest working here unless it's in a management level or developer position. - A lot of management and some of the highest execs are unapproachable. It is not a flat hierarchy like most startups, and there are so many politics with departments, to the point where the company suffers.

What a train wreck!

Pros

Potential. Huge amount of potential. Intriguing and original idea steeped in neuroscience. Inge.

Cons

What a train wreck. Hopefully my negative review won't be deleted as I've seen some other negative ones deleted. Half of us got laid off last week and it's convenient for senior staff to blame it on the virus but this has been a long time coming. Company hasn't moved the needle in a long time. Muse S - an expensive cloth Muse 2 never lived up to anything and now we're expected to push hard on sleep. Meditation Studio - an acquisition of an app with no users and a CMO with no creativity and still providing little interest is another bust. Marketing has been dead for a very long time with the same website messages and boring repetition - slashing prices over and over. Having worked closely with product I can say, from candid conversations, there was no inspiration there either with frustration at having to make changes that never improved a terrible churn rate. We were always rushing to end up developing something flawed. Nobody in the company was motivated by the product. Nobody in the company, from what I could tell, ever used the product. Never understood why decisions weren't made to remove the senior leaders, especially the CEO for terrible performance and no ideas. I wish I was at the company 3 or 4 years ago to compare what times were like when the company was motivated by science and research.

Great company but....

Pros

Inge.

Cons

I feel like the company is losing their integrity, which made it stressful to show up to work everyday. They are in a rush to produce new products; when in reality they need to perfect their current devices. They do not care about the impact on their customers they just want good numbers for their investors. I just feel like the entire approach of the company is off. Salary was awful, and asking for a raise or promotion was a LENGTHY process. However, you are required to do a lot more than what is listed in your job description with no reorganization.
