Jasper brings out the worst in people

Pros

- it's fully remote - the salary is pretty good.

Cons

- People randomly get fired all the time. They fire a few people at a time for "performance reasons" so they don't have to call it a layoff, but everyone knows what's happening. It's clear that management wants some employees out and to bring their own people in. - It's hard to stay positive here. You rarely receive any praise for doing well and you're constantly worried about getting fired if one project goes poorly. There isn't much trust in between teams either. - You pretty much have to be a "Yes man". If you disagree with leadership, you will get fired. They make it known that they like people who hustle and don't stop to ask any questions. - Product vision changes often. We go all in on one thing, only for it to change a month later. - Jasper is a good wrapper on top of LLMs. Marketers find it useful but there isn't anything proprietary about it. - Engineering leadership does not care about you as an individual. There are zero meaningful conversations about how to help grow or advance in your career. Most engineers have been in the same position for years with no room for promotions or raises.

Started out great, but lost transparency

Pros

Started out great, and was an upbeat, motivating environment with a close knit team. Good perks, pay and lots of transparency. Weekly team meetings allowed you to feel connected with the business and colleagues.

Cons

Overtime the transparency was lost alongside team events and weekly meetings. There is also a lot of favoritism. You will find that people close to the founders are in senior level roles without senior level experience. The overall team camaraderie is poor.

THE WORST OF THE WORST

Pros

Getting paid was a pro.

Cons

This is the single worst place I have EVER worked in my life. Where do I even begin with this dumpster fire? Favoritism to the absolute max. If a new executive comes in, prepare to be pushed out because everyone only wants to bring in their own people. Why is it that the entire company, except for a few employees, has turned over? That's NOT normal. There's also not a chance in hell this place will go public. The product is absolute trash. They've got a bomb sales team that can sell anything, and that's the only reason they're afloat. Some of the people in leadership are also the most evil individuals I've ever had the misfortune of knowing.
