Pros
Stable salary. That's it! Nothing else.
Cons
Too many... I don't know from where to begin... This place is full of evil. The management are very poor, black-hearted, closed-minded people. The university is full of shoe lickers from Pakistan, India, and Jordan. When you enter a building there, you feel like you are walking in Islamabad, New Delhi, or Amman Cities. Pakistanis, Indians, and Jordanians are very submissive here. They accept any kind of humiliations as long as the salary continues to flow at the end of the month! They form lobbies and abuse other nationalities. Your time gets booked completely because of useless committee meetings, department council meetings, seminar meetings, office hours, online meetings, students' meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings... You meet all day and all night long. Weekdays and weekends... It never ends!!! The management here love to talk about anything all the time. They have the ability to talk about things that have no title, no subject, or no conclusion... they just talk talk talk and you must sit there all the time from the very first second to the very last second, or you will get fired. They book your time completely and then ask you about your publications at the end of the year (they now need at least 4 publications per year!). They exploit all your energy in many useless things, then they evaluate you based on how many publications you did per year! Students there are very demanding. You must accept their suggestions or you will get fired back when they evaluate your performance at the end of the courses. Overall, it's a miserable place. I wasted 10 years of my life in this place hoping for any change in the future, but alas, it just gets worse and worse. I was an eye witness of many abuses here. Many bright scholars left the university in the past few years. They all couldn't tolerate the work environment and resigned or left their posts at the end of their contracts. They never value your work. All they want is to have submissive people who can accept all kinds of humiliations and abuses. That's why the university is filled with Pakistanis, Indians, and Jordanians. There is no future for this university in the presence of the current management. It used to be a good place 10 years ago, but the university track has gone way off the road under the current management. If they offered you a contract, my advice to you is to run away for your career, even if they put a million riyals for you on the table! Just escape and don't ruin your career here. The work environment here is very toxic and you shall lose your soul as the time passes by year after year.
