    I worked at Kaufland

    Pros

Global business Some senior managers get cars

    Cons

Power hungry senior management who will happily throw a subordinate under the bus for their benefit Senior management constantly changing direction and never admitting any fault of their own Senior management directs and tells, not empowers employees Not innovative, don’t dare question or challenge the status quo Not a flexible work place Not a collaborative work place Pretty average pay for what is required of to... do your job

I worked at Kaufland full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Large parent company although its not doing well in Germany Melbourne South east location with free parking on site

    Cons

By far one of the worst company to work in. Do not be fooled by the fake reviews that the management has forced employees to write in the recent times . This already tells you what sort of management they have at Kaufland. Instead of choosing to deal with the issue on hand they rather sweep in under the rug. Turnover rate is extremely high at the company as well due to the toxic work environment. They have... officially 42.5 work week but unofficially its way more than 60 hours. Micromanaging and also unilateral last minute decision changes with no plan to follow up. This obviously leads to employees feeling burnt out all the time I have heard but never experienced pay discrimination until I started working here. The discrimination is rampant and surprisingly open and candid I would suggest management to invest in AI or robots as they obviously do not have any respect or empathy for human employee's

I have been working at Kaufland full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great team environment Clear structured growth plans Being a start up environment, you can be exposed to parts of the business you wouldn’t normally be involved in, so you can continuing learning and growing Great leadership team willing to nurture and develop people Fantastic brand new office with amazing facilities

    Cons

We are growing so fast so you need to keep up with all the new faces Dealing with our international colleagues can sometimes slow things down

    Advice to Management

The best part about working for Kaufland Australia is that management give you their 100% trust from your first day. It’s yours to lose. This is something that management should never change. It’s very empowering for us employees

I have been working at Kaufland full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Entrepreneurial is the best way to describe it. Big backing from international retailer but operating like a start-up. Fast-paced, a lot of opportunity to progress if you prove yourself and work hard. No micromanagement. Great culture, everyone is friendly. Transparent feedback and communication.

    Cons

A lot of opportunities but expectations are high. You're not expected to work long hours but the expectation is that you stay back if you have deadlines. Flexible working (work from home etc.) isn't available yet. Salary isn't as competitive as other retailers, but they want the opportunity to outweigh money.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work so far. As the company grows make sure you look out and see what other businesses are doing to keep employees engaged. Otherwise, a lot of people will leave after a year or two.

I worked at Kaufland full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Large parent company and great to get some contacts in the industry Some talented people in the mid-management

    Cons

Low pay, long working hours and minimum benefits Poor IT systems, frugal infrastructure but rigid processes Management is quite difficult to approach and ideas are most often turned down Very uncertain future with CEO exiting in the last month and the parent company facing financial problems in home markets

    Advice to Management

It one thing to run a company and another thing to start a business. There is clearly a lack of leadership who can bring the energy and drive to the team. Working here feels slower than working at established biggies like Woolies and Coles already. Not a great sign

I have been working at Kaufland full-time

    Pros

Small Sydney office, with head office in Melbourne.

    Cons

Poor career development and support. Senior Management lack direction, do not have the skill set to lead and inspire a team. Bad culture - Long hours, poor remuneration packages (compared to other property & retail companies). Would not advise working for this company.

I worked at Kaufland full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Expansion plans in the next couple of years so there might be scope for growth Some employees are provided with cars and fuel

    Cons

Very hierarchical company with a conservative outlook Lack of innovation and transparency is quite evident at every level Hire and fire is quite common with scores of employees asked to leave every quarter before thier 6 month probation Long working hours and stressful work environment overall

    Advice to Management

Provide direction and purpose to each function Decentralize decision making to be able to react quickly
