      Best managed biglaw firm around

      Pros

Great management that are actively interested in promoting the careers of their associates. The work is varied and interesting and the salary is solid and generally at or above New York market rates (I am in a non-US office). A great mix of competent and nice folks, which is surprisingly hard to find at a law firm. Latham also takes care of its own, so if you're leaving on relatively good terms, the firm does what it can to ensure you're placed in a good position (this is also in their interest as it expands their client network).

      Cons

Work-life balance is non-existent, but if you're in biglaw, you probably already knew that. Clients are very demanding - and can choose to be because of the premium fees charged by the firm. Also, vacation can be a pain to get, and even when you do receive time off, be prepared to work on vacation regularly if the deal demands.

      Pros

      - colleagues are supportive and emotionally intelligent / good culture - there is a focus on development and growth - fantastic benefits & PTO policy - instituted a hybrid work from home schedule for most employees - opportunity to work across global teams - many resources available

      Cons

      - while there are definitely opportunities for career growth, you need to be willing to make lateral moves to where the opportunity is and your manager needs to advocate for you with raises, etc - as with any law firm, marketing technology can be lacking although this is changing

      Pros

Great people, culture, and morale. Always looking to help improve the skills of their employees and encourage ideas.

      Cons

Very process oriented which can feel monotonous at times. Can't think of a glaring con to be honest.
