Pros
Great people. Great building. Great benefits.
Cons
Up for sale. LoyaltyOne has been dissolved and they are selling up. Precima has been sold. Awaiting on a buyer for AIR MILES. Recent posts on social media about an avid “collector” who submitted a cartoon about a recent promotion. That “collector” is actually a marketing exec who’s followers have tripled since the post and is now monetizing from the repost. Embarrassing lack of leadership. Embarrassing lack of truth towards the public. Just let it go

Negative OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at LoyaltyOne full-time
Pros
One of the nicest offices in Toronto. Used to be a great place to work.
Cons
When times gets tough, the screws tighten. A new wave of micromanaging culture where everyone is on edge makes it not a fun place to be. This company used to value its employees and want them to be happy - very much the opposite now. I’ve seen first hand HR and Air Miles leadership be petty and vindictive just for the sake of demonstrating their power over others. Mean girls in Marketing is totally true. If you are going into an interview ask “What happened to Bryan Pearson?” And “what are Alliance Data’s (the parent company) plans for the business?”

Cons
Hey days long gone and here comes the pain. Struggling to meet financial top and bottom lines. Board of directors of the parent company is keeping a close eye on everything and everyone in the company. A lot of great folks have left the company and those who are still here are either unhappy or looking.

"Untrustworthy management, uncollaborative office space"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at LoyaltyOne full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
New clean Globe & Mail building with bistro, Shuttle bus from Union Station, OK benefits and AIR MILES Reward Miles anniversary bonuses, SOME great co-workers I call friends, latest hardware technology.
Cons
Bad non-collaborative office environment, first come first serve sitting, horrible year-end KPO review system with uncompetitive bonuses in the industry. Too much favoritism, back-stabbing co-workers and useless managers that don't stand up for you nor the team, management kiss butt their directors and account teams, grow some balls! Toxic work environment with too many politics. Poor software technology that they keep changing vendors while others companies are ahead of times. Directors in the marketing group are a scam hire and fake, they think they know all but they don't, sadly the AIR MILES brand is dying while others are evolving. Look elsewhere for growth opportunities and promotions, not here with so many budget cuts and layoffs.

"Toxic Company Run by Bullies in Management"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at LoyaltyOne
Pros
Bistro, shuttle to and from Union Station, nice new office
Cons
Completely toxic work environment where many managers have no idea how to actually manage people. This turns what could be a decent workplace into a miserable, toxic work environment run by ego-maniacs. There is a lot of politics, toxicity, and bullying happening that is frankly a disgrace. Never experienced anything like it, which is very sad since there are actually many bright, smart, decent people working there. On top of all of that, the Air Miles brand isn't doing great since expiry. People have lost confidence, clients jumped ship, and the correction has been slow. None of the perks (nice new office, bistro etc) are worth being treated the way many employees are being treated every day. Tread very, very carefully.

Pros
Nice open office but there was nothing wrong with previous office. Great concept to sit anywhere and on any floor and work with your laptop. Free shuttle bus to and from Union station. Company perks are nice but not as good as used to be, slowly things are cutting back. Some lunch and learn seminars. Allows to work from home but it's frowned upon even there's a policy to work from home. Some great associates, a mixture of young and older.
Cons
Too many managers, and many are not trained to be managers, were promoted by manager friends, most have attitude and are selfish, management does not care about the staff. HR is useless and sides with managers. Employee KPO reviews + annual bonus is a disgrace and below industry standards. Senior Leadership team has no direction about AIR MILES reward program since the miles expiry controversy, it has become a PR nightmare and a sinking ship. Too many upset clients and collectors that some withdrew from the program. Less workload, too much stress, can't trust some people, too much backstabbing, poisoned workplace. No career advancement.

Doesn't RecommendNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at LoyaltyOne full-time for less than a year
Pros
- new building is nice - lots of young people who are fun to be around - generally decent hours, aside from occasional projects
Cons
- Air Miles brand is hurting and doesn't know what to do. Everyone is up in arms about being unique and winning back collector trust, but isn't actually willing to do anything different - very little data-driven decision making, it's mostly gut feeling and whatever will keep upper management happy - barely making any money off partners, who are all pissed off at Air Miles as well - teams can be cliquey, and face time matters more than you would think. I've had multiple managers tell me that it's more important to be seen running around doing stuff than actually doing good work

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at LoyaltyOne for more than a year
Pros
I am a co-op at LoyaltyOne and I can honestly say it has been a blast. My department specifically treats associates well. We are all equal, everyone is valued, and everyone is held to a high standard of accountability. Love the work culture - very young and fun company to work for, especially as a millennial. Great work life balance, lots of perks, and most importantly a great co-op program. Moving to a new office in the east end, that is centered around activity based working. They are trying to create a collaborative work environment and I think that is very valuable. Values career engagement, and creates many opportunities for movement and growth throughout the company. Creates many opportunities to hear from associates, and they actually listen to the feedback they are getting. Overall, great company to work for.
Cons
Moving to the east end so will be off the Subway line. Tech aspect of the company is not always the greatest. BT not helpful. AIR MILES brand is being revitalized but many people still have negative image of the brand in their mind.
