Pros
Good and stable pay. Good learning opportunities, good bosses and colleagues if you're in the right department. Some departments are also surprisingly flexible and progressive.
Cons
High workload and stressful environment.
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Cannot get fired even if you are not competent. Like what an earlier comment below said, there are a lot of incompetent bosses around. Can’t say that work life balance or pay is very good in all positions here, but for the type of work we do - accept edits, edit language, we are well paid l o l l.
Cons
Can read between the lines from the pros. Bad bosses are a mix of non scholars (more of these actually) than scholars. Also not many scholar bosses left, mostly gone to greener pastures lollll.

- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros

Cons
Challenging and hierarchal organisation with red tape
- Current Employee, more than 8 years★★★★★
Salary high for low effort, but must bootlick to rise
27 Jan 2023 - Assistant Director in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Pretty decent salary, will not be rich but definitely at least middle class life Wont get fired unless you are terrible Life quite relaxed as long as you know how to navigate abit.
Cons
Have to learn to bootlick, rising past a certain point is dependent on how much you're willing to sell yourself iykwim. Some scholar bosses are in their own world, ivory tower, unrealistic expectations. If unlucky they no empathy, impatient, selfish, you can be treated like slave. You can relax, no need so smart, but those around you also like that so not easy even when you want to work.
