Pros

Stable workplace. Salary is competitive. Once someone gets the rythm of the work, can provide a stable work-life balance. Headquarter is nice and modern but out-of-downtown, located in North Buda so daily commute can be expected. Two home-office days per week granted on paper but that depends heavily on the position and the manager/head of department.

Cons

As it is a state owned company and a strategic asset, plus dominant player of the Hungarian energy sector (both power and gas, district heating very minor, no oil involvement) the governance of the entire group and the headquarter/holding are very dependent on the actual political regime. So, the operation is both externally and internally "politicized". One must be prepared for this corporate politics aspect once working there. Thus no one really want to take responsibility. Things realize when there is strong political will or strong mutual agreement among interested parties. Besides, operation is quite burocratic. No common management/leadership practice. Rather "go on your own" (=according your experiances/gut feeling) or lasseiz-faire approach "rules". Low emphasis on learning. There are online materials but there is no soft skill education, mentorship program, etc.
