      This place should be a last resort for anyone.

      Pros

      Initially, McCarton was a great place to work. People were super friendly, the work was manageable, and the pay was okay. Most people are great and will help you get through the day. The babies are great and cute. The therapists and teachers are professional.

      Cons

      Over the course of a few months it became very clear that this place was not what it seemed. The turnover rate here is extremely high. It says something about the place when they’ve been open since 2020 yet all your coworkers have only been here for a few months, weeks or days. This company protects bullies and does nothing when you speak up about issues. The TA’s in the pink and green room are the most unprofessional people of all time. All they do all day is go on their phones avoiding their actual work and instead talk to their CA friends who are even worse. They let their CA friends sit and do nothing for hours, and if they get a baby they make them sleep. This is not all CA's this is just those they've deemed as part of their group. I’ve seen these TA’s and CA's engage in so many toxic behaviors. Hazing, bullying, harassment, and so much more. You learn more about their personal lives than you do about how to do the job. I don’t see how hearing about someone’s failed marriage and dead bedroom is going to help me in my job. It's incredibly uncomfortable how the TA's and CA's harass male CA's and sit with them for hours upon hours pressing them for details about their personal lives. It's incredibly unprofessional and harmful. On top of that these people curse and yell at the babies. I complained about this a dozen times and they all acted super sweet to the babies for a few days but went back to their unprofessional behaviors. They talk openly about wanting to beat the babies whenever they give them a hard time. These people are absolutely not fit for their jobs, and I wouldn’t want them around any children. These are special needs children they're talking about. 2 year old babies. What's worse is they are so worried about their conversations and personal lives that babies have left the rooms unnoticed and found by themselves in dangerous situations. Beyond that the daily gossiping is insane. They speak badly about everyone from teachers, fellow staff, higher ups, etc., and not only amongst themselves but out loud to everyone. The disrespect I've seen coming from these people is wild.

      Best place to work if you hate yourself

      Met some of the most amazing people in which we bonded over our miserable times here. xoxo love you guys :* Got to work with the best babies ever!

      Where do I start? 1. When you get hired, the things under your job description are not equal to the tings they actually force you to do. 2. They do not train any CA/ABA Assistant properly. 3. They hire anyone. 4. MESSY,UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE WORKING AS TEACHERS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS. Teachers and teacher assistants who have been in the same position since the place opened up will sit miserable and gossip about CA's and other workers ALL DAY. One teacher assistant who will know I'm talking about her is the most shady, miserable, low-life, sad excuse for a woman is so angry that she has been in the same position for 3 years but won't let management know. Instead she rather sit and hate on anyone around her who is promoted. She smiles in everyones face but the moment they walk away she's gossiping. As if she should be one to talk... I'm genuinely sorry for her and her sad excuse of a life. She only claims to be professional when she is not talking about her insecurities, boring relationship, and other people. 5. Hr doesn't do anything for employees. They say they're open to suggestions but don't make any changes. 6. Breaks are only 45 minutes long but lots of times, buses are late to pick up children so CA's have to give up their breaks. And still not get paid for 45 min. 7.Long hours, little pay. 8. New rules every week. The list can go on and on but unfortunately my fingers are literally aching from all this.

      Avoid at All Costs - Incredibly Unprofessional

      The only good thing about this job is the wonderful kids. It is very rewarding to see them reach milestones. Otherwise, the entire place is a con.

      Cons

      The McCarton Foundation looks pretty on paper, but the reality is different. It is a very demanding job and you will not get compensated for it through pay nor benefits. The CA's are the backbones of that foundation, yet they are not taken seriously. They claim to care about their employees, but they really don't. The irony of it all is incredible. They completely disregard your needs (in all aspects). It is a physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding job, yet you can't even have a bottle of water in your classroom. You also barely get a 45-min lunch break during a 10-HR shift. And if you aren't feeling well, you have to suck it up. They expect so much from you, but don't meet you halfway. The entire place is a joke. It's like highschool all over again, with the cliques and bullies and rumors (not coming from just the CAs, but the very teachers and TAs who are supposed to be leading the classrooms). They are incredibly unprofessional. They just don't care. It's really sad because the children and the employees deserve better for the important work that they are doing. They are constantly needing new employees because they lose them just as quick as they get them.
