Nurturing the young ones give me immense satisfaction. As an AED, I usually get the tail-end classes. But when they come back years later as successful adults, I feel so proud of them.

AEDs usually get looked down upon. Have been told things like: -Not a real teacher -You can't touch the exam papers -Only teachers can do these But when it comes to doing free labour, suddenly it became, "Oh, all teachers do these so you are also expected to do."

Most of your work as a teacher is not going to be anywhere about teaching - it's about care for students, administration for their activities, etc - it's important, it's something that could drive you, but it's also something that will inevitably wear on you until either you burn out or you stop caring as much as you did before.
