A company that seems overwhelmed

Pros

Catered lunches, flexible work arrangements (for now), open-space work environment. Decent benefits package with new 401k match. Unlimited PTO/sick leave. Happy hours/company events. For the most part, you will be surrounded by collaborative team members that are fun, have a great sense of humor and are willing to work hard to help the company and its clients. Great exposure to working directly with major financial institutions and some of its executives.

Cons

Unfortunately, the pros at Naehas cannot come close to outweighing its deficits. The product itself is powerful and has so much potential, but it’s wasted on poor planning, poor processes and poor management. The platform consistently under-performs, placing the Engineering, Support and Services teams in a continuous bind. The training regimen on how to use the platform is almost nonexistent, which makes it difficult to learn quickly. The software solutions are tailored to each individual client, so it is not easy to jump from one client to the next, but you will be expected to do so and contribute right away. The clients themselves are often trying to figure out how things work as well, so there is poor direction on their part, which leads to poor execution on the part of Naehas. When things don’t work (which can be often, at times) the clients can be mean, rude and insulting to those on the front lines, which kills morale and creates resentment. Management seems to know of these issues but the incidents continue to occur. In terms of management, you will be micromanaged to extremes at times, down to every little task, and that kills any energy or motivation left in the tank. You don’t feel trusted to do your job. When you begin at Naehas, a lot of emphasis is placed on career advancement and growth, but it generally fades. 1-1 meetings begin to become less and less frequent, feedback more sparse, and your goals/career desires will not get much attention. If you join the team, you will most likely remain in the same or similar position until you decide to leave. Some of the best parts of Naehas, like flexible work arrangements, happy hours, and awesome employees are being degraded as well. There has been a recent crackdown on remote working, and a lot of emphasis has been placed on being in the office from 9-5. That would be fine, if employees weren’t also expected to work nights and weekends as necessary, which happens much more than you’re imagining. Happy hours have become much less frequent, and due to all of the reasons specified above, the best employees at Naehas are now moving on to better opportunities. To top it off, the pay could be much better.

Pros

You will get a paycheck bimonthly, you can make a monthly order from Costco for several items and your lunch is catered.

Cons

You will receive no or poor training, expected to take on projects that will slowly steal your enthusiasm, week after week, month after month until you find a better job. This is purely a production job. Your lunch may be catered but that's because you only get 15 - 20 minutes to eat with your co-workers or from your desk. Expect to be micro-managed.
