My previous company resembled a high school environment with a predominant young workforce, averaging around 26 years old. Gossip and judgment were pervasive, often dominating daily office conversations. Some tasks extended beyond my initial job description, like ordering meals for the CEO, without additional compensation. The company lacked diversity, as the big majority of employees and management were Italians (company is based in Brussels). Transparency from board (all family members) was minimal, leaving many employees uninformed about their future when the company started having financial concerns. Unprofessional behavior included pressuring employees to overcharge clients for financial gain. Moreover, coworkers exhibited inconsistent behavior, sometimes friendly and other times rude, often prying into personal matters during work hours. Management failed to address this unprofessional conduct.
