I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very good employee benefits. Much better than many MNCs. Allowed to work from home

    Cons

HR is the biggest conmen. They con you into the job, press down on your pay, make you join the company with all the empty promises. Upon joining, many employees feel that they have been cheated into the job, either from the pay perspective, or the role that they signed up for. Changes happen in Oracle every quarter. Do not join if you can’t keep up with that. They fire and hire easily and mercilessly. They can claw back your commission anytime after your successfully close deals. So if you happen to close big deals, just take the money and leave. Before they somehow find some lame excuse and reason to claw back your hard earned money.

I worked at Oracle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits, flexibility to work from home, work with some of the smartest personnel in the industry, exposure to a wide range of technologies.

    Cons

Utter choas after the recent reorganization. Mixed directions from management to drive on-prem and cloud business. Recent merger of database and middleware team led to high attrition rates from both sales and presales due to unrealistic expectations fro higher management to deliver results in a short time span. Very high pressure environment and management does not listen to feedbacks.

I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent products, can provide end-to-end solutions, very aggressive in sales (so as pre-sales you learn things quickly), lots of talented resources to learn from, if you work hard you get recognition. As pre-sales there is lot to learn and no one will stop you from learning new things and starting the pre-sales activities on your own. Oracle will help generously for external training and certifications (full reimbursement). work from home, flexible timing, when you travel you always stay in 5-star hotels and their is no TA/DA (so expenses are all paid via corporate credit card and there is no limit for food bills ). Good compensation for sales guys

    Cons

negotiate well when you join oracle because salary wont increase every year, been in Oracle for 6 years, achieved 150% of KPIs fr past 3 years, but no pay raise. Only way you can get a pay-raise is after you get a job outside and based on offer letter, HR and Management will match the salary (I dont support this method) Politics is there, need to know the right people to get promotions (btw promotions doesn't necessarily increase your salary). Manager can tell you that his own salary has not increase so how can he help you ? huh... Since its a sales-driven org, above mentioned cons dont apply to sales team. they can get their salary raised easily (they have solid numbers to show from yearly quota achievement etc). Pre-sales, even though is the most important dept, dont get good treatment.

I worked at Oracle full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Every group/division can be different in how they treat their employees, but I'd say overall there is very good atmosphere of trust and fairness. There is a strong focus on education, and they reimburse for outside classes taken (Up to 5k/year I think). Benefits are good, and I'd say quite competitive in the market. Good 401K matching (they'll contribute a max of 3% of your 6% or greater). Free drinks in the breakroom. Flexibility to work from home at times. (If you live 50+ miles away from an office you can work full-time from home...policy).

    Cons

They don't try to make the workplace anything special (maybe a pool table and arcade game are cliche or gimmicky?). In the 10 years I've worked there, they've given 2 measly %1 cost of living raises (this is the same with most everyone I've spoken to, some don't get any raises). You will not get a substantial raise ever, unless you leave then get rehired on (they will not match offers, better to leave). New employees that you train will make 10 - 20K more than you several years after you hire on (not just me, they do this to all tenured employees). They will give these untrained, less experienced people higher titles (again this is done to everyone not just me). You learn pretty quickly that you're dispensable. The company has billions in cash and they don't re-invest in their employees, just in acquiring new companies and hiring new people that know nothing that you get to train.
