Pros

There is a truly exceptional group of people at OutThink, well recruited to bring diversity and experience to the business. The camaraderie and support from the individual team members is genuine, which honestly, is the only thing that keeps most people sane.

Cons

Bullying is characterised as offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behaviour, an abuse or misuse of power through means intended to undermine, humiliate, or denigrate the recipient. This is the CEO of OutThink in a nutshell. People are recruited under false pretences, such as a remote first workplace, annual bonuses, unlimited holidays, comprehensive health care. But it’s all a lie. People are expected to work 14-hour days and be a yes-man, and treated like disposable beings if they aren’t prepared to do so. Unfortunately, there is no HR department to report bullying or mistreatment to or question the missing benefits. If you are a potential partner, employee, investor, or funder – do your due diligence. Look online and reach out to us - current and past employees – we will be more than happy to answer questions. If you don’t do your due diligence, then more fool you.

Thank you for your time in leaving us this review. We are sorry to see that you’re feeling this way. This is not the experience we hope to offer our team. Employee experience is at the heart of everything we build, hearing how we can continue to improve your experience is something I’d love to work with you on. If you’d like to speak about your experience in more detail, with myself (Flavius, CEO), or any member of our Leadership Team please reach out.

Pros

Some of the colleagues were great and that's about it!

Cons

The CEO is a bully, continually threatening to sack the team. He is never happy with any of the work done by anyone. So many of the colleagues have been sacked because of his whims or have left! Glad I don't work there no more. Steer clear, do not entertain this place and remember, they are all in it for themselves and the Board of Directors ignore all the issues which makes them the problem too. They have all these 'perks' which are not true and only to entice people. All the reviews you see of how great this company is, are fake or people have been paid to put them up. I wouldn't give this place a one star, but can't write this review without it. You have been warned - he will make you feel undermined, not good at your job and totally harassed. He tries to intimidate you, continually questions your decisions no matter who you are and what capacity you work in the business.

Hi *****, I'm genuinely sorry that your experience at OutThink wasn't a positive one. I feel a sense of sadness and disappointment that you chose to write an inaccurate review. You know how much we invested in your growth and development, including coaching, mentorship, extensive one-on-one conversations and retreats. You know that all of these efforts were made with the most sincere intention of supporting you. It's clear that despite our best efforts, you faced challenges related to anxiety that affected your ability to perform at the level we both believed you were capable of. I want you to know that I genuinely believe in your potential, and I hope that you'll find the strength and confidence to overcome these hurdles in your future endeavors. Remember to stay grounded and trust in your abilities as you navigate your path forward. Flavius Plesu CEO

The company that doesn’t care!

Pros

Decent people that work hard and willing to learn but just don’t get that opportunity to do so. Read why in the cons. I was asked to write a 5* review but decided to do an honest one unlike my colleagues. There was a moment that things were coming together , the leadership were directing us and I would say the VP people who has now left made a pretty substantial impact, probably I would see things change if the CEO didn’t get rid of the leadership team. I would say it’s been downhill from there.

Cons

1. This is a failing business , a seed stage business that has over hired and undelivered. 2. Ask about the turn over of the leadership team. Enough said. 3. Ask about the general rate of leavers, you’ll find this high in comparison to companies at this stage and size. 4. CEO isn’t who you’d want to work with or direct the organization. There’s no sense of direction 5. Are you an engineer? No point applying , legacy tech stack and a CTO that hasn’t put in processes well enough, you’ll have an awful onboarding and an even more awful time here. The rate of engineers coming and going is huge, again, ask. You won’t learn a thing here and the expectation of work is just uncalled for because there isn’t process or leadership direction, you’ll be up on a 7am call on a weekend for a release every other week. You can imagine as an engineer how you’d feel if something you’re working on , the CEO not the CTO goes actually ‘I want this’ with no sense of appreciation of time it would take or process. To learn anything interview the CTO and ask him how he deals with the CEO. 6. A company that has rinsed and repeated their Commercial team , worrying as the commercial targets will never be hit and our bonuses ride on that , I’d be shocked if the business even looks to see past December honestly they clutch on to straws by government grants that they truly don’t deserve. If you have given them a grant please do your due diligence as there isn’t a lot in the business that is above board. 7. The Head of security awareness is a fake role. It’s to drive in candidates from enterprise and pitch to them. I know it’s shocking but I did say they don’t care about anyone. Ruthless sales tactics 8. Talking of Sales the CEO believes he’s the best sales leader in the world so commercially this whole business won’t thrive. Having fired a whole commercial team. 9. The CEO’s words ‘I like those who work on the weekend’. Zero boundaries. I’d assume he let go of the Chief Product Officer that joined less than 6 months ago because he actually set boundaries ? 10. If you’re looking for a new role no matter how desperate you are , don’t apply! If you’re in an interview process with OutThink probably best to not proceed.
