Low pay, Forced Long Hours, Extremely Clic-y, But Creative
Pros
Before I left, there were a few very creative people at Outthink, I learned a lot from them. They have a game room where you can blow off steam, but it is rarely used. The parties there are great! Some of the clients are fun accounts. I got to work on some great logos I am proud of - and have gotten me hired elsewhere.
Cons
The creative people are on their way out. Almost everyone accept the older people are looking for jobs elsewhere. The older people have been there a long time and you are FORCED to work long hours without being compensated for it. The top earners are in a little clic which excludes everyone else. They play favorite. The owner yells at everyone and he has a wild temper. There is no growth opportunity there. Once you're in a job, you stay there. I waited years for a "promised" promotion which never happened. I make a lot more money at my new job. Every designer I talked to there was unhappy except the old designers. They make around $60K-$90K (the senior and creative directors). There are two owners. One owner I never had much interaction with.
