Absolutely Toxic Sales Culture

Pros

Amazing product and hard working talent.

Cons

Quite possibly the worst sales culture you will ever see. Leadership hires and fires talented people before they are even fully Ramped. It is mandatory that you work 65-80 hr weeks to be successful. This is the expectation, not an every once and a while thing. The sales leaders have never actually been leaders, most just happened to be at the company when it started and fell into leadership positions. Ramp is quite possibly the best marketing company you will ever see because on the outside it looks amazing. The unfortunate part is if the sales culture could ever catch up to the product this could be a world class opportunity. If you have sales experience at any reputable company please please please be careful accepting a role here!

Pros

smart people that are all very product driven. Roll out good features fast altho it comes at the cost of burning people out.

Cons

Egoistic to the point that they are out of touch with reality. worse than the Wall Street finance culture in the way that they think they are cooler than that (yet they are as basic as that). Political and toxic culture that could scare and silence people. Immature male driven management that makes it hard to feel human to work here!

Pros

Ramp is a fast-paced environment with smart and driven people. The product is well-received, with many satisfied customers. The company places a strong emphasis on customer feedback. Compensation is competitive.

Cons

Despite having over 800 employees, Ramp does not have any Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), as leadership prefers employees to focus solely on work-related tasks. Research suggests that ERGs can aid in employee retention, yet this is not a priority for the company, possibly due to the high volume of job applications received daily. As a result, employees may see colleagues leave abruptly, which can disrupt knowledge transfer. The company culture is predominantly shaped by a particular demographic, with limited emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Leadership's approach of being "blind" to color, gender, sexuality among other factors may overlook the benefits that true DEI initiatives bring. Some early joiners have accumulated more influence and higher titles than their capabilities warrant, leading to decisions made without a structured and formal process. Understanding the informal power dynamics early on is crucial for new employees.
