An absolute joke

Pros

Co-workers, arcade, and food discount.

Cons

Just about everything else. This company is a joke. Corporate has little to no communication with each other or the stores in any meaningful way, and prioritize the office workers over the people actually running their stores. They once attempted to not pay employees for a holiday, so that they could have their corporate day off and holiday pay. Everybody above District Management level is so incredibly incompetent, it's appalling. On more than one occasion I've seen the refuse to close a store in dangerous weather, when most of their staff are in the 18-22 range. The working hours and conditions post-covid are insane, scheduling ever employee for 40 hours, and struggling to run a department every day. Imagine being 20 years old, being paid just above minimum wage, working 40 hours a week with no benefits, and having to drive through dangerous weather because they just can't go without the arcade for a single day. Until this company can get it together on a corporate level, and learn to respect their staff, avoid at all costs.

Pros

Great video games, redemption prizes, karaoke, associates.

Cons

Total disconnect from other locations. Stores employees are looked down upon from HQ. No recognition for doing well, no bonus structure in place. No incentives for retention. Non competitive wages. No corporate culture or core values. No acknowledgement of diversity and inclusion. No formal written review for annual evaluation or goal setting. DM made promises but failed to deliver on those promises. DM always reeks of alcohol, disappears for hours. No accountability for DMs. No open door policy to air grievances. The company thinks everyone is stealing from them. Newer locations being opened in bad neighborhoods and failing malls. Antiquated back office operations.

Pros

• Many coworkers are genuinely nice, supportive, and work hard to get the job done. • Provides a stable and predictable environment.

Cons

• Very top-down culture with little room to contribute ideas or make improvements. • Most suggestions are dismissed, leaving employees to simply follow directions. • Communication with managers is often stressful, as they constantly worry about how leadership. Creating a culture of fear. • Limited opportunities for growth, promotions, or fair raises despite years of work. • The environment often feels negative, and issues are widely recognized but never addressed.
