Pros
Staff are really lively and friendly. Very helpful and kind. Interior decor is nice to look at but not practical for support staff needs. No desk assessment or the capacity for reasonable adjustments A nice locker room in The Strand office. Free coffee and free bite size food in cafe
Cons
Where to even begin? Soho House has such a wonderful reputation on the outside. When I was interviewed and offered the job I was very excited to start and to work within a cool and trendy scene. My 1st 2 weeks at Soho House working from home during the pandemic my calendar was back to back full of meetings from morning till 6pm. Barely time to eat, drink water or go to the toilet. As time went on I started to notice things. Some said and some unsaid. What I am about to say I don't say lightly. This is my version observations and experience. The CEO and particularly members of the 'C-Suite' exec club are not fit and equipped to be in their positions any longer and should step down or handover the reigns to qualified, capable and experienced people. The support office is by far the worst experience I've ever encountered in my 20 years of work history. The place is a sham. The insane micro management from the CEO downwards is harmful to your health sanity and wellbeing. The unreasonable control and hours that are forced upon you. You are made to feel that You have to work evenings, days off, weekends and bank holidays. Constantly being made to be reactive to emails, last minute requests. With no regard to work life balance. Or the size and effort of what has been requested. There is no cohesive consistent way or working cross departments. Everything You do is a massive manual effort. Compliance is non existent. Data is held on google drive. If you have a personal Google account it messes up everything. Don't even think about going to HR to voice your concerns. Certain figures in HR is the problem and only perpetuate the micro management and outright bullying. If your not available every hour of the day your then made out to be incompetent and not working as part of the team. There is no acknowledgement of the pandemic on a personal level. Only a financial level with disregard to people's caring and childcare responsibilities. Working from home was frowned upon. And micro management came into full play when you did WFH. Soho house is the most toxic and dangerous environment I have ever experienced. So much so I think they should be shut down immediately and taken over by actually human beings. Being made to feel that You have to work excessive hours on a daily basis is workplace bullying. You can not sustain a healthy vibrant workforce when you are put under that much stress and strain DAILY.

Pros
The pay is somewhat competitive although they should be paying more than 14/ hour for the intensity of the work.
Cons
-Understaffed half of the time you are running around trying to get a manager or looking for essentials (napkins, glasses, silverware etc because a lot of the bussers don't do their jobs and management is always lacking) - Incompetent managers -Incompetent way of operating -Everyone is over worked - 30 min lunch for 8+ hour shifts - No breaks whatsoever - Rude clientele - They expect you to stay 30 min to an hour more with no respect to your time - They ask you to do things not in your job description - No benefits for part time employees
