Hoping for the best, but the brand is on its final breath

Pros

There were some amazing and talented people who worked there and moved on. The available gym + breakfast & lunch were also great perks. Fun place if you love to wear many hats. If you’re great at boosting the egos of the leadership team you’ll get far.

Cons

Unfortunately if you’re not part of the boys club there’s little opportunity for growth. Too much talent was lost due to this alone. And the “they left for a better opportunity” is bogus. They left because they got passed up for the role to a bro. Leadership has no idea what they’re doing. They’re all talk and continue to make bad decisions at the expense of their employees. They also tout that they listen to their employees but in reality they just want to hear words of praise. Lack of diversity. Either you’re a white male who does what you’re told or you’re out. Opinions are not welcomed and appreciated.

Pros

They love to spend money. None of the confines of a regular business because it’s barely a business. You’re “family” until they lay everyone off.

Cons

Upper management got lucky years ago and has been steadily riding this thing into the ground ever since. No clue as to what they’re doing. Constant layoffs. No direction. No communication. This is a company that lost its way. Sad.

White men doing white men things

Pros

Amazing co-workers. That’s all there is to say.

Cons

Miscommunication was a constant issue between HQ and retail, with changes being made at the drop of a hat with no warning or game plan. Poor retail leadership—never empowered employees to make decisions that would better the business and hundreds of good ideas went in the garbage. Good work went unnoticed (despite “gratitude” being a Stance core value), but one hiccup and you’re receiving a call from leadership. Ultimately the brand is hollow, preaching creativity and uniqueness but forcing all of their retail employees into the same box and baiting the with promises of promotions or connections, ultimately wasting so much raw talent by not paying any attention to the people on the ground. But then again, what more can you expect from a brand run by rich, white men?
