Pros

Relaxed/no dress code, Starbucks coffee machine in break room, catered food around the holidays, no one is issued a laptop so you'll never have to work at home/over the weekend.

Cons

Pay is on the low end of the scale for most positions. Company utilizes a bell system that really makes you feel like a farm animal. The bell goes off twice a day for two 10 minute breaks, and then a 30 minute lunch break - very annoying! This is a family business and it shows. At some point in time, you will get wrapped up in some sort of family drama whether you care to or not. Management is very gossipy and, chances are, if they're talking bad about someone to you, they do the same about you to someone else. Lots of turnover so morale is generally pretty low. Profit seems to be the only concern of management and the owner. Owner drives several high-performance vehicles but will laugh at you if you pop a tire on the way to work. Management seems to be winging it entirely and it's apparent no one really knows what's going on most of the time. If you think you'll advance in this company, look elsewhere. There's really isn't anywhere to go in most departments, and there are a few long-time veterans that will never leave to give you that chance. Healthcare is pretty expensive and not great coverage. Culture is non-existent. No holiday parties and no work events. Review process is pretty vague and you won't get an explanation about your bonus amount. Absolutely no option to work remotely - owner thinks that is 'lazy'.

The bell ensures our fulfillment employees who are working on the floor filling and packing orders do not miss their chance for a paid 15 minute break.

Pros

Relaxed Dress Code, Roomy Work Environment, Nice Location

Cons

The job potential that was sold to me during the interview is what drew me in. It was a small enough company that I felt I could make an impact and continue a long-term career. I was told that the position I wanted wasn't available to me yet because they had a need elsewhere, but they told me that they are a company that grows from within, and told me after 90 days in a less-desirable position, they would review me and most likely give me something different to do. This did not happen. However after about 6 months, they gave me different work to do on top of my other work. My workload was so intense, that there was not a way for me to accomplish everything that was asked of me. This was thrown back at me as a reason I wouldn't be placed in the company in my original desired position six months later. I decided to apply for a different position. Again, they decided to put me on a 90 day trial. During this time, there was a noticeable shift in the work environment with a mass exodus of long-term employees at all levels. Several employees told me that no matter what, there is a 90 days trial for promotions, but people rarely pass the trial. It became apparent to me that management would rather hire outside employees at a starting salary to fill the role, then keep raising current employee wages. And after speaking with them, I found out many of the new employees that they hired for our coveted promotions, actually were applying for DIFFERENT positions, and the 90 days trial eventually happened to them as well. Out with the old wave of employees (who become so frustrated by the low salaries, appreciation, and lack of growth that they quit) and in with the new- who do not know any better because nobody is left to tell them. Lather, rinse, repeat. Needless to say, there is no room for growth at this company despite what a review that a "company insider" may write on here. And not only that, current employees obtain extra work loads as people continue to leave with empty promises of advancement.

We've listened to our employees and former employees and since the date of this review, Super Bright has since created senior, lead, and supervisor positions to allow advancement within the company as well as promoting cross-department moves.

Pros

Co-workers in the same level are great! Hours are good.

Cons

Management is extremely unprofessional and very clique. If you’re not in the group, you will suffer. I always felt like I was forgotten about or no one knew what to do with me. Wasn’t trained properly because I was always stuck doing busy work. So when I was put on something else I was set up to fail. I asked multiple times how I could improve and I was always told I was doing fine, or just go faster.....but then I went too fast and was told to slow down because they didn’t have enough to do. Their attendance policy is the absolute worst. You can request off and have it approved, only to discover that if you didn’t have “sick days,” you will be written up, even if it was pre-approved. They also will auto deduct your measly supply of sick days for ANY requested time off. Even if you requested it properly, a month in advance. And had it approved. I had to call in sick after my second COVID shot and they wanted me to sign a disciplinary action for it. I provided medical documentation that I received the shot and had a reaction, but they would not retract the write up. I refused to sign it and was told I would be terminated if I did not sign. So I was fired during a pandemic for missing a day (when it’s slow anyways) because my second COVID made me sick.
