I have been working at Swisscom full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Swisscom is truly a great employer with nice work-live balance, great social environment. A high team-spirit and very customer oriented working attitude.

    Cons

Swisscom is a large swiss enterprise and therefore sometimes not a fast mover and not really agile

    I worked at Swisscom full-time

    Pros

    • Stable company, has loads of money to invest/waste. • Salary is negotiated upfront and is generally higher than market rate. • Depending on your contract/salary, you can get time autonomy +/- 5 additional vacation days, which is extremely appealing. • Possibility to do remote work. • Some perks include free mobile handset plus a fixed monthly allowance which you can use to pay for mobile or tv subscriptions and a discount for rail abonnements (GA). • You benefit from discounted rates at all resturants in all Swisscom offices. Menu prices vary from CHF 10 to CHF 20.

    Cons

    • I still don't understand if Swisscom wishes to be an international company or a Swiss one. IMHO, after having worked there for a while, it really felt like working for a Swiss-german company. • If you are not that motivated of simply not such a hard-working person, then you'll be happy at Swisscom, as you won't be alone. It's a very good place if you have a 'I wanna retire' type of mindset. • Swisscom is not big, it's huge. Trust me, if you don't like an environment where you virtually cannot remember everybody's name and you become, as a result, only a number, then it's not for you. • There are endless layers of management, units, wanna-be project managers.. well a lot of red tape to deal with. You will definitely hear a lot of buzzwords like being agile - well, they will remain words. • At the time of writing, the monthly allowance doesn't even pay the top natel XL subscription. In general, Swisscom lacks behind when it comes to job benefits, which is especially felt if you have a family with small kids. • Career growth really repends on where you end up. I've definitely seen more people growing in managerial positions through networking, business lunches but most importantly after having spent millions of hours in meeting/focus rooms (which seems to add points). * Food is often very questionable at Swisscom restaurants.

I have been working at Swisscom full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some great people, but gets less, allot of opportunity across teams but short lived as it's "not on the road-map" but it's a real need for the customers. good salary and great benefits, working from home is flexible Has a strong brand and respect associated with it's products and customers

    Cons

Too many meetings, they try to be agile in some projects, but fail because the thinking and mindset of people is just old, bullying goes on across the company without constructive action from HR. Bad people seam to move faster around, with many very talented people just leaving quickly. Re-orgs every year become annoying, promotion as an engineer doesn't exist. Knowledge and vision of employee's is not important. The brand is strong but, it's over used and many of the claims are not actually real Products are claimed to be swiss-made but are really outsourced work abroad,
