Pros

Fully stocked kitchen with the ability to request purchase of snacks, drinks, and meal items every two weeks. Every so often, there will be catered lunch or team happy hour. After one year, 401k match is 100% vested. Since it's such a small company, the CEO and CFO are easily accessible.

Cons

I don't usually write reviews but I feel like I need to be truthful to help others who may be making the decision to join Title21. Below are some notes of my experience. Job duties: I applied to be a business analyst and I felt like they tacked on project manager right before I signed the contract. In practice, it's difficult to manage a project that you are unfamiliar with, and made me feel more secretarial than I liked. On small projects, I don't believe that a dedicated project manager is needed, and makes for "too many cooks in the kitchen". Additionally, upon the departure of a colleague, my duties shifted to mainly project management focused. I was invited to a client meeting only to find out at the end that I was there to take notes, not to be a business analyst on the project. I had five years of experience in a similar field, and I felt like my experience was being pushed to the side. Onboarding/training: There was no formal training plan, but I spent 2-5 hours per week being taught the products and workflows by more senior team members. This was only for the first few weeks, and were canceled when more pressing meetings arose. A lot of the training was self-driven, reading documentation and playing around in a test system. Work hours/time logging: Employees are expected to log their time down to 15-minute increments, including the client and what tasks were accomplished during that time. I can appreciate timekeeping for client billing, but I think management needs to recognize that every single minute of every single day is likely not billable, and logging as such takes away from employee productivity and makes them feel micromanaged. Stated office hours are 8:30am-5:30pm, with little room for flexibility. I often was the first person to leave at 5:30pm, even though I had gotten there around 7:30 or 8am because I work best earlier in the day. I will note that I never asked for earlier working hours, but I did not get the vibe that would be approved nor did I want to ask for special treatment. I often asked around for additional work since I had extra time, but seasoned staff members seemed overworked and overwhelmed, which meant they were unable to spend time teaching me how to help because it was faster for them to do it themselves. Pay and benefits: Average to below-average pay for the location; healthcare coverage doesn't start until 60 days of employment; low PTO and doesn't start accruing for 6 months; unable to contribute to 401k, even your own money, for a year (after that, they will match a certain percent which is immediately vested). Overall, I mostly agree with the more recent critical reviews, and have to wonder how they received so many positive reviews.

Pros

The best thing about working at Title21 is its amazing work culture. The office is a positive, collaborative and fun environment. I was hired as a relatively new grad and the amount of growth and experience I have gained since being hired is immeasurable. Management allows you to take complete ownership of your projects and really achieve whatever it is you set your goals to. I have never felt any limitations on what I can accomplish and find there are endless opportunities for professional growth. The company values and encourages creativity and innovative thinking which gives you the opportunities to challenge yourself and think outside the box. They really care about aligning your job position with your own personal career goals and passions. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a job where they can truly make a difference in their own career as well as in a high-growth company.

Cons

If you cannot work in a highly dynamic environment - this company isn't for you.

Pros

You can get hired here right out of college with no professional experience and get paid a bit more than you did being a waitress.

Cons

They pay less than most paid internships and raises do not keep up with the cost of living. The founder works 24/7 and everyone is expected to do the same. Since it's a start-up company they want to get every penny of work out of you. There is absolutely no compensation or gratitude for extra effort, and leaving work after 8 hours is uncomfortable and greatly frowned upon. They say they are a "transparent" company. This does not mean they are open and honest. This means they badmouth current and former employees in front of everyone in hopes to make an example of what not to do. Belittling and embarrassing employees does not inform the rest of us how to be successful at our jobs. The gossip, cattiness, and unprofessional-ism at this job is astounding. If you ever do something wrong, or even have a misunderstanding, you'll most likely receive a scathing email threatening your position or your salary. Any conversation with management in which you do not completely agree will be noted as insubordination. This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked for. They constantly change expectations, change processes, and then yell at the employees when it's not done correctly, even though there was no memo alerting us of the change. It is very apparent that a lot of the management do not actually know the software. You get conflicting information depending on who you ask. They do not promote from within. Employees rarely get promoted in this company. Even if you are proficient on the software, they will bring in a new person above you when a position opens up. This is proprietary software, so the new person is completely lost (no experience will give you knowledge to this software) and they often quit. The turn over rate is well above 80%. This company has had less than 10 people for years, so you can guess at how many people have come and gone over the years. This company is so small because hardly anyone stays here longer than six months and they refuse to hire more people because of the cost. There is no job security. Senior management rotates who is their favorite, and everyone else gets micro managed. Management is always asking if your tasks are complete and breathing down your throat. The odd thing about this though, is there really isn't any training when you initially get hired. You're thrown into it and expected to learn on you own, quickly. There was one employee that had worked here for years, knew everything and was really helpful, and out of the blue this employee got fired. And it was really disadvantageous for the company because without this employee the rest of us were even more lost and work really fell behind.
