Pros

Colleagues are friendly, the work is varied and stimulating, the offices are nice.

Cons

The billing targets are ok, which is manageable when there's sufficient work. The problem is what happens when there isn't. At junior levels, fee earners are quietly expected to go out and generate their own work, or look for it internally — something that doesn't appear anywhere in the job description or was raised at interview. There is an assumption that work will always be there (which is why they recruited you!). More concerningly, when a team has been over-recruited and/or work dries up, management's approach to managing people out is deeply unfair. The tactics used are indirect and, frankly, questionable — rather than being straightforward about the situation, the firm creates conditions designed to push people toward the door. When work was readily available, I was the golden child of the team. As soon as it dried up, I was the first to be 'managed out' If you're considering joining at a junior or mid-level, go in with your eyes open: your security here is only as stable as your team's pipeline.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you found your colleagues supportive, the work stimulating, and the office environment positive. We’re sorry to hear that your experience around workload and career support did not meet your expectations. We recognise that periods of fluctuating demand can be challenging, particularly for junior lawyers, and we work hard to balance business needs with providing meaningful development opportunities and support across our teams. We do not want any colleague to feel unsupported or uncertain about expectations, and feedback like this is important in helping us reflect on how we communicate, manage workloads and support career progression. We are committed to fostering an environment where people are treated fairly, openly and with respect. We wish you all the best in your future career.

Pros

- Clear and helpful walk throughs of the apps used within the company. - Uplifting and welcoming team - All questions answered and explained without the judgement if lacking in knowledge

Cons

Follow ups on the onboarding in terms of the online use. Whether you don't or you do have prior experience in Teams, Outlook and the internal soft wares, the new starters all get the same introduction to these, which could lead to some getting brushed over quicker.

Poor leadership and limited growth opportunities driven by office politics

Pros

There were limited positive aspects during my time, with very few standout examples worth highlighting.

Cons

Leadership often relies on intimidation rather than support, creating a toxic and stressful work environment. The leadership style can feel overly directive, with little openness to feedback or challenge, and upward feedback is often blocked rather than considered. At times there is a lack of consistent managerial support, including periods without a direct manager. Promotions do not always appear to be based on experience or skills, which affects morale. IT project expectations can feel unrealistic, and employees are sometimes expected to cover responsibilities beyond their roles, including for colleagues who are insufficiently managed or supported. Not to mention mention the IT support...

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet expectations. We take comments about leadership style, workplace culture, and employee support very seriously. Creating an environment where people feel respected, supported, and able to share feedback openly is something we are actively working to strengthen. Your observations around communication, consistency in management support, and clarity in career progression are particularly important, and we recognise the impact these areas can have on both morale and performance. We're continuing to review how we set expectations across projects, ensure appropriate resourcing, and support our teams more effectively. Feedback like yours plays a valuable role in helping us identify where we need to improve, and we appreciate you highlighting these concerns. We wish you the very best in your future career.
