Like AI itself, Zest AI is all promise and no substance.
Pros
- A few people there are genuinely kind and doing their best. - The office is nice. - The staff is relatively diverse.
Cons
- The company preaches constantly about "culture" and "changing the world" when in reality they couldn't care less and regularly fire swathes of people to pad their bottom line or cover for mismanagement. - Management is largely incompetent, especially in the C-suite. They have little clue what's going on at any given time, make absurd asks they clearly don't understand, engage in shady/morally questionable practices, and regularly demonstrate how little they care for their employees despite all the fluff they say. The current CTO is especially egregious in that regard as one of the most uncaring, unthinking, unpleasant individuals I've ever met. - Playing politics is valued more than getting work done. All your accomplishments will mean absolutely nothing if you're not brown nosing the right people. - The company always has plenty of money for catered sushi lunches, truckloads of merch, guest yoga instructors, and an endless list of other frivolous nonsense, but when it comes to paying everyone fairly it's a nightmare uphill battle, they've even cut salaries later down the line (but not for the C-suite of course). - The HR team is kind to your face but very mean behind your back.
