Radiology technicians produce x-ray images by performing x-ray procedures using radiology equipment and processing film. Radiology technicians primarily work in state, local, and private hospitals, laboratories, and physician's offices.
Radiology technicians must graudate from an accredited radiology technology program, be BLS certified, and be ARRT certified. In order to become ARRT certified, one must pass an exam after completing an approved radiology technology program. Additionally, many states require radiology technicians to be licensed in the state of practice. Fortunatly, many states only require ARRT certification in order to qualify for state licensing. The best radiology technicians have a keen eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
