Do you find that your team members in India take more sick days than US? On my team in the US, we work from home if we get a cold but are generally still able to work. Being too sick to work happens to each of our US team maybe 1-3 times a year. My team in India takes 1-2 sick days per month. Are they actually too sick to work and that level of illness is more common? Or is there a cultural difference that you don't work if not feeling well?
Didn’t get promoted and thinking of leaving Deloitte for the next level at Guidehouse. It’s a title bump so I would get a raise, but I’m trying to weigh the opportunity cost of going to a “lower tier” firm known for more niche services. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you choose? Would this limit my exit opps?
How do you respond when at Partner starts yelling at you/your team? How do you respond?
What net worth would you need to feel comfortable walking away from corporate for good
Just saw a post from Fortune Magazkne that Gen Z is getting fired because they don’t have good communication skills (how to run a meeting, how to write a formal email etc.), don’t show initiative (ask questions, volunteer for projects) and don’t maintain professionalism (show up on time, miss deadlines etc.). Sounds like the boomers are getting grumpy, but as a millennial, this doesn’t surprise me. Curious if anyone thinks work culture will eventually adjust or if you’re seeing this.
I know I have said this before but I just want to say thank you to this group being there for me during unemployment. Being unemployed during the holidays for the first time has been very difficult. It really means a lot to me to have so much support from everyone here. Thank you to the people that have talked to me or let me talk to them. Thank you for all of the advice and support everyone has given me. Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to talk to me. I began my consulting career and to be let go from my first consulting job. I know that being let go is common and I have realized that many people have been in the same situation of being unemployed as me. Everything happens for a reason and I know that there will be a better consulting opportunity for me out there. No matter how much that I thank you all it will never be enough. Being a consultant has always been my dream and I will not give up till I am a consultant again. The biggest challenge for me is that I did not have a consulting network but through this group, I have been able to grow my network and talk to a lot of wonderful people. I am hopeful that I can continue to grow my network in this group. Thank you all for being so kind and nice to me. Thank you all for all the support that you all have given me during my time of unemployment. I hope you all have a great day tomorrow and a wonderful weekend. Happy Holidays Everyone.
Good stuff OP. You're a good person that shows a lot of gratitude and humility. Good things will come with that kind of attitude. All the best over the holidays and the new year!
