People being let go bc of comparing performance against peers is bs. upgrading the team? how come other rigorous fields (investment banking, medicine, Big Law, oil & gas engineering, trading firms, etc) don’t feel the need to do this, yet they have the right people the teams need every year 😂 consulting isn’t the most rigorous/difficult/or prestigious career. just say it’s for the greed of the firm, at the cost of unempathetically uprooting employees lives & at least you’ll be honest.
The key to being promoted (beyond capability) is to be likeable. To be likeable, you need to be relatable. To be relatable, you need to have a wide range of hobbies and interests and appeal to familiarity - eg have kids, watch sports, play golf, etc.
Would you take a $20k bump to work in person 5 days/week? (Remote Fridays in the summer) & there’s a chance the company will eventually go back to hybrid. you also get the flexibility on ur work hours so could do a 7am-3pm schedule to avoid traffic
Are we in a DEI recession rn?
At 5 YOE and 190 base and feel underpaid. How underpaid am I? What comp could I get if I jumped to another firm? Assume only jump that would be a step up is some T2 and above
You probably won’t see movement until after Jan 5th regardless of how long it typically takes
This also depends greatly on what you’re getting checked. Outside of clearance, which is 3-6 months depending on level, it could be a month.
Few days
depends on the amount of stuff they found on you
2 weeks.
Have you lived in China/Russia/Cuba/North Korea?
Just a background check? Few days. If you’re talking about a security clearance depends on agency and level
It really depends on the company and what they’re checking. I’ve seen anywhere from a couple days to a month
