Tomorrow is Juneteenth and the markets will be closed. Out of curiosity, how do you feel about the relatively new market holiday? • Strongly support it • Neutral — a day off is a day off • Prefer the markets remain open • Doesn’t impact my business either way For those who have been in the industry a long time, has Juneteenth become just another market holiday, or do you still see mixed opinions among advisors, clients, and firms? Me, I like the day off.
I’m curious whether people would accept slightly lower pay for a genuinely healthier culture. A bad environment can make good compensation feel less valuable. What would you trade for peace of mind at work?
I’m in my late 30s & recently found out I have a torn meniscus. I’ll be working from home for about a month while I recover from surgery. I mentioned it to one client, & his response was, “Wow,I guess my FA is getting old!” 😂 If you’re going to be working remotely for a few weeks but are fully available, do you tell clients you’re recovering from surgery, or do you simply say you’ll be working from home? How much personal information do you think is appropriate to share w/ clients?
💭 If you were let go from your job tomorrow, what's the first thing you'd do?
I’m curious—what evidence are you seeing that men are experiencing reverse discrimination? In financial services, it still seems like most senior leadership positions are held by men. I’m at a conference and overheard a conversation at the next table.
