The sound of men working on the chain gang is a good thing at Renold. The global engineering group manufactures and markets industrial chains, from roller to conveyor and leaf, as well as precision products, such as automotive cam-drive systems, clutches, and machine tools. Customers include companies in food-processing, packaging, printing, and bottling industries. Renold boasts manufacture of 860 feet of chain used to move more than 30 million rides at Ohio's Iron Dragon roller coaster. The company's facilities dot more than 20 countries, including a 75% stake in India-based chain maker L.G. Balakrishnan & Bros. Renold was founded in 1873 by Hans Renold, inventor of the bush roller chain.
